And They Lived Happily Ever After - A June '11 Disneymoon TR! THE END - NEW PTR!

I just went back and read your wedding recap. Wow! What a wonderful (and gorgeous!) wedding!! It literally gave me chills when you talked about walking to the ceremony, right before it was about to start. I'm sure it's a moment you want to savor and last awhile, but at the same time you want to sprint down the aisle. And I hear you about the father/daughter dance! I love my father, but I'm almost considering taking out dancing all together at my reception so I wouldn't have to deal with that. All the people staring and women getting emotional, no thanks! :)

Can't wait for the next TR update! :goodvibes

Aww, thank you! I have gone back to re-read it myself! I'm so glad I did the recap so that I can look back on it! :goodvibes

Day 1 – Pt. 2

When we left CP, we were expecting to get a bit of a head start on the crowds, but I couldn’t believe how many had already poured in to the MK!

That was ok, though. We were just so happy to finally be on our honeymoon! The first day of vacation really is the best!

Thankfully though, it seemed like the majority of the crowd were headed to Fantasyland, so once we made it through the hub it was easy to make our way to Tomorrowland to grab our traditional first-of-the-morning Space Mountain FPs.

While in Tomorrowland, Miguel decided that he wanted to take a spin around the Speedway since it is always so crowded. I am not sure what the appeal is for him for this ride, but keeping with my vow to veer off the plan if need be, I said ok. Once he saw that the wait time was already 20 minutes, though, he relented that the original plan of BTMRR was a better idea. :thumbsup2

On the way to Frontierland, we stopped for some pictures with the castle!

We then crossed through the hub and made it to Liberty Square. Believe it or not, but I have never noticed the Liberty Bell before. Naturally, we had to stop for a picture!

We decided to take the walkway over to the back of Frontierland. On the way, we passed by Miguel’s favorite spot – the Shooting Arcade – and noticed that it was closed.

I told Miguel to make a sad face since his favorite attraction wasn’t open – this is what I got.

Secretly, I was kind of happy that it was closed. :rolleyes1 If you've read my previous TRs, then you know that Miguel could easily spend an hour here!

After Miguel "grieved" over the Shoorting Arcade, we continued to make our way down the walkway. Since it was still so early in the morning, there wasn't too many people over there yet, and the weather was still comfortable. It was a lovely walk with some beautiful scenery!

One day I want to go to Tom Sawyer Island to look for the paintbrushes. Has anyone every found them?

Finally, it was time for BTMRR! The posted wait time was 10 minutes I believe, but it was really a walk-on.

Afterwards, I thought it would be a good idea to go over to the Haunted Mansion while we waited for our FP window to open so we could get passes for Splash, but Miguel had another idea. He wanted to ride Splash right then! Normally I only ride water rides at the end of the day, but because there was only a 5 minute wait and it was already really hot, I gave in and off we went!

While in line, I realized that there was no way that my camera would fit in my purse and I started to panic about it getting soaked. Miguel then whipped out a ziplock bag and said we could put it in there. What a great idea! Why hadn’t I thought of this? I’m not sure if it was intentional or not, since it was actually the bag that his clothes for the day were packed in, but it worked out really well! Our camera and phones stayed completely dry and we only got a little wet. We had so much fun that we decided to load up on a couple more Fast Passes.

Up Next: We experience the new queue at HM, do some shopping and run into the Brazillian tour groups! :scared1:

Wow, there were already lots of people there!

Miguel looks so excited to be at MK!

Carrying a ziplock bag is a great idea. We had done it for Kali River Rapid, but for some reason it had never occurred to us that you could get really wet on Splash Mountain as well. A little wet, sure, but nothing much. We got lucky that we didn't get wet at all, but next time I'm making sure I have something to protect my stuff!

Looks like you had a very good first morning so far, but I'm afraid of what's coming next!

Ohhh I can't wait to see pictures of the new queue at Haunted Mansion!

Tell me more about these Tom Sawyer Island paint brushes...

I've never been to TSI either but my camp counselor from when I was in middle school found one and her photo of one of the paintbrushes is actually in one of the DW guidebooks!

Wow! That's a crowd all right! Summer is busy in WDW, though.

I usually carry a ziploc or 2 with me as well for that exact reason! :)

It looked like a beautiful day. :goodvibes

The new queue at HM is so cool!!! DH and I had fun figuring what everything was when we went through in May.

Good thing he had that ziploc bag! LOL And yay for veering off the plan :) LOL Sometimes it's nice to veer off a plan (a little) :P

It was so crowded for being early! Miguel and Mike think alike, he always brings ziplocs with him any time he will be on water rides, so he can store his phone, wallet and camera! I mock him mercilessly for it :rotfl2:
And poor Miguel, lines at the speedway and no shooting! Poor guy can't catch a break. We had gone on the speedway once, and I have to say that I don't get the appeal either..but you are right, it seems like a lot of people want to wait in line to drive a car around in a circle!:rotfl:

Always Always Always bring a Ziploc for the camera!!!

Brazilian tour groups???? Is there ever a time these people don't show up???

Oh my God, I LOVE that picture of Miguel and the castle!! He looks so excited to be there/on your honeymoon! I'm admiring your ability to go with the flow! It seems like you were really able to be laid back and have a chill honeymoon!

I love the sad face picture of Miguel when the shooting arcade was closed. I also love that he just whipped out a ziploc bag. Too funny but I'm glad it worked for the ride! :thumbsup2

Looks like a wonderful start to your Magic Kingdom day!

Lol when we in Frontierland on our trip I noticed that the Shootin' Arcade was being refurbished and I actually wondered if you'd know about it before your trip so Miguel wouldn't be sad about it! ;)

I haven't looked for paintbrushes on Tom Sawyer Island but I have been over there a few times - it's such a lovely area, really calm and you get great photos of the Haunted Mansion and Thunder Mountain :thumbsup2

Emma princess: x

Wow there were already so many people at MK! Glad most of them went to Fantasyland so you could get your SM FP's! :thumbsup2

Aww, poor Miguel and his shooting arcade! :rotfl: I probably would have been secretly happy that it was closed too! :rolleyes1

I always bring a ziplock or two with me into the parks, in case anything might get wet, but then I always forget about them! I'm surprised our phones didn't get ruined last year on Splash, with how soaked we got! :rotfl2: I'll be more prepared this year!

Oh no, Brazilian tour groups!!! I keep reading horror stories about them! :rotfl:

Sounds like a great start to your morning (other than the large crowds). Amusingly enough, your route..Space Mtn FP, riding BTMRR, riding Splash Mtn, then getting a FP, would probably have been DF's and my's exact schedule as well. :rotfl:
:rotfl:
It was great to see Miguel had a Ziploc bag for your electronics on Splash! I'm sure the ride wouldn't have been as fun if you had to worry about your items getting wet the whole time.
Can't wait to see what you thought of HM's interactive queue.:thumbsup2

YES! I am here to stay :goodvibes We moved back into our house, and will hopefully (*hopefully) be paid back soon. I will be sure to post pics in my new PTR (stay tuned -- I will need lots of your advice ;)) Loving your first day! Can you believe that we never rode Splash when we were in WDW? It was always down for repair, or way too cold. I am dying to try it! Great idea about the ziplock bag. Can't wait to hear more---can't STAND those tours! haha.

What a great start to your MK day! Poor Miguel..that stinks his arcade was closed. Good job on going with the flow! I'm with you...I don't usually do water rides in the mornings either. But in the heat, I bet it felt really good!

Already asking for advice: :lmao:

We are thinking of staying at POR (no kids!). Didn't you stay there before? Do you think FQ or Riverside is best? Thank you!

We were both so happy to be there! I love that picture of Miguel. :cloud9:

We will always take a ziplock now! I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner!

Ohhh I can't wait to see pictures of the new queue at Haunted Mansion!

Tell me more about these Tom Sawyer Island paint brushes...

Apparently, there are these special brushes on TSI and if you find one, you get a special fast pass. I've heard you have to get there really early to find them, though. Maybe one day! :goodvibes

I've never been to TSI either but my camp counselor from when I was in middle school found one and her photo of one of the paintbrushes is actually in one of the DW guidebooks!

Wow! That's a crowd all right! Summer is busy in WDW, though.

It looked like a beautiful day. :goodvibes

I had forgotten just how busy Disney during the summer was (it's been years since I'd been) but we were quickly reminded! Thankfully we still didn't do too much waiting in line - maybe a little more than usual, but nothing unbearable. :thumbsup2

The new queue at HM is so cool!!! DH and I had fun figuring what everything was when we went through in May.

Good thing he had that ziploc bag! LOL And yay for veering off the plan :) LOL Sometimes it's nice to veer off a plan (a little) :P

The queue is really neat! I wish there were more like that to keep you occupied while in line. :thumbsup2

It was so crowded for being early! Miguel and Mike think alike, he always brings ziplocs with him any time he will be on water rides, so he can store his phone, wallet and camera! I mock him mercilessly for it :rotfl2:

It was packed that day! We thought for sure we'd have an hour or two before the crowds poured it, but apparently not!

I don't understand the speedway either. Well, maybe for little kids, but adults? I have no idea why Miguel wanted to ride it so badly. :confused3 But then again, I haven't really figured out why he likes to pay $1 to shoot a fake gun at little red dots either. :lmao:

Always Always Always bring a Ziploc for the camera!!!

Brazilian tour groups???? Is there ever a time these people don't show up???

We've managed to run into them every trip, but we realized that they really are worse during the summer. They were literally everywhere you turned. You couldn't escape them! :scared1:

Oh my God, I LOVE that picture of Miguel and the castle!! He looks so excited to be there/on your honeymoon! I'm admiring your ability to go with the flow! It seems like you were really able to be laid back and have a chill honeymoon!

I love it too! It's one of my favorites from our trip! Definitely tells what are emotions were that day! :cloud9:

I love the sad face picture of Miguel when the shooting arcade was closed. I also love that he just whipped out a ziploc bag. Too funny but I'm glad it worked for the ride! :thumbsup2

Miguel never thinks about stuff like that. He's a fly by the seat of your pants type of guy. I was shocked to say the least! I couldn't believe that I hadn't thought of that! :lmao:

Looks like a wonderful start to your Magic Kingdom day!

That is too funny that you thought about Miguel when you saw the arcade! :lmao: Thankfully he wasn't too sad about it! I bet TSI would be a nice retreat in the middle of the day. I am definitely putting it on my list for net time! :goodvibes

Wow there were already so many people at MK! Glad most of them went to Fantasyland so you could get your SM FP's! :thumbsup2

The Brazillians were terrible this time. I've seen them every time we've gone, but nothing like this. I have quite a few stories about them!
