My kitchen aid stand mixer was my grandmas from the '70s...not the cool colors but it still is going strong.

AP Folks, could I bend an ear for a moment?(I need further ammunition when I present the case to the hubbo. He actually seemed fairly open to the idea yesterday. Keep in mind, I know next-to-nothing about APs so forgive me with this plethora of weird questions!)
Don't know how accurate it is, but I was checking out the historical discounts for general public vs. AP holders. They're all released at approximately the same time -- except for AP holders getting the discount a tad earlier? Also, with AP holders getting a 5% additional discount on rooms -- or thereabouts. Does this sound fairly spot-on? What are the black-out dates like? Are there tons of blackouts for AP resort discounts?
Could one of you AP gurus do me a mega-HUGE favor, if you don't mind? I was wondering if you could copy and paste the current AP room discount (for however far out it extends -- is it up to June already?) for POR and BC? (If I can show hubbo the AP discount vs. general public in actual real numbers that'll help my case immensely.) Thank you a TON!
We sat down yesterday afternoon and discussed the pros and cons. This was brought about by talking about Jen getting APs(![]()
) and by us renewing our zoo membership. Got to thinking about how spending a few hours in the park and leaving whenever we wanted would be a real option for us with APs -- and it wouldn't feel like we "wasted money" like exactly how we feel when we go to the zoo for a couple hours and then leave. It would completely change our Disney touring style, obviously -- as we currently do a leisurely "one park a day" thing with lots of resort time. Also, staying at the Epcot resorts (usually) would give us the opportunity of going into the World Showcase to grab food whenever we wanted. During our January trip, on both our Epcot day and our HS day, we left and came back later. APs would allow us to do this... but add the ability to switch it up and go to a different park. Anyway, if I can show my nerd-man the cold, hard facts... he might go for it. (He even liked the idea of driving down next summer!
) Sorry for the novel, just talking out loud here!

Phew...Dr. said it is NOT shingles. Thank goodness. Thanks for letting me worry here myself !![]()
Good Morning all!!
A day off, and Jesse wakes me up at 6:30am....really?! Of course he did it with a hug and a sweet smile. Then I realize it's 28 degrees outside....kinda cold for us Southerners. Wishing I were here, basking in the sun....
At least the other two kiddos are still sleepingGives me some Dis time with no interruptions.
Jesse has informed us that he wants to go to SeaWorld for his birthday in April. The kids have never been....it's been YEARS since Bill and I have visited, so I'm starting from ground zero. Any suggestions would be appreciatedGuess it will be a long weekend trip. Who knows?!
Back to reading and more coffee!
Heather
Yup!!! I am going to Costco today to buy a bunch of meat and fruit to use with it. I want to grind my own meat for burgers and such, as I am repulsed by store bough ground meat. I actually do not eat it. I don't know why, I just hate it.What food processor did you get? I wanted the Kitchenaid one, but I am pretty sure I can do pretty much anything in the Vitamix. Except slice veggies. I will try to resist the temptation though.
wookie Glad I could help!!!
Good to know mine should last for a whilewhen I got mine the color selection was limited so I went with boring black

Good morning / afternoon, ladies.
Heather: Yet another gorgeous photo. You spoil us!Brrr... that is chilly for you guys. We got someone else's weather today too. It's 50 out now! Ca-RAY-zee.
Jen: My friend... you know what happened when I read that you were going for APs (for real this time)? Of course, it got the ol' cogs turning. Could you smell that wood burning from all the way up there?

Time to play catch up once again
DH and the kiddos home today so taking a few minutes on the laptop while they are playing some computer game.
Heather - I haven't been to Sea World in years, but I know it used to be the Renaissance that was the hotel on property. I am not sure what else has gone in since we were there. DH got up to go to a dr's appt this morning and threw on shorts and t-shirt and I laughed at him and said obviously you don't realize how cold it is out....it was 46 degree down here in South Florida....BRRRR, but I love this weatherOh glad to hear Faith like the RR's, we had them booked for April, but then DD decided she does not want her bday at WDW. I think they look like a good option with the deluxes are just crazily priced.
Wookie - sounds like you are good to go with your ADR'sHope you got though all your school work last night (even after helping the inlaws with their crap
Dani - did you order the Vitamix? I got a new food processor yesterday and am strangley excited, LOL!
Jen - glad your mom doesn't have shingles, did the dr say what it was? YAY on the AP's!
Well I am off to do some dishes and maybe a load of laundry, my life is just so exciting

Thanks, I did. I got it done really early. I had the 4 1/2 page paper done before 7 PM. The DH wanted me to play SW:tOR with him, but he annoyed me by doing a new boss without me that I haven't done. Then I got sucked into watching Dance Mom's online. Anytime he would text or FaceTime me from the other part of the house to check on how I was doing, I would tell him either I was still working on it, or editing it. Due to my mind not working right from my blood pressure being up a little from forgetting my morning meds, it read like a monkey wrote it. I just had to keep editing and reading through and editing again. Really, I was watching Dance Mom's.
I am not an AP guru at all, but wanted to share my recent experience with the AP vs. Spring Discount. We are purchasing APs and so I called to see what the discount would be at the BC for the dates we already have booked under the Spring Discount. Well at first she came back with a number I thought sounded too low, but it was awesome so I called back to book and it came back higher, but it was actually still more than the additional 5% I was expecting. I'm not sure if maybe this was because it was a club level room or not, but we were looking at them online with the spring discount (we had only booked a standard room) and what they came to after the AP discount is another 9% lower. Whatever, it worked for me.
We are also paying with gift cards purchased at Target with our redcard so we are saving an additional 5% there. In convincing DH I brought up the Tables in Wonderland discount as well as shopping discounts and a discount on one of the tours we want to do and he was all for it. We hadn't planned on going more than once this year but with the savings and our twins still being free we are now planning a second trip for next April using our APs.
Now the real convincing is going to be getting him to agree to a long weekend trip around the holidays since we already have the passes and I have some free offsite hotel nights.
Jenny very happy to read it was not shingles
Heather love the pic, beautiful as usual! I been looking over your TR of the Poly stay enjoying the pictures. Been years since we went to SeaWorld it sounds like a nice Birthday trip for Jesse
Dani Have fun with your Vitamix! I remember my Mom going to the neighborhood butcher and picking out a large round steak then having him grind it up for her.
Did anyone watch Kelly and Michael today "live" from Magic Kingdom? It gave me a much needed Disney Fix! The shows will be there through Thursday this week.
to everyone here
Wookie:: I am so glad you got your paper done. I have said this before but I don't know how the heck you do it all!
Thanks. I have gotten so used to it, I strive on the chaotic. When I dog sat/ house sat for my sister I didn't have anything to do for 4 or 5 days. The first couple of days, it was cool. Then it drove me nuts. I need to do some pricing today, so I can see how much of our WDW to pay off as soon as our tax return hits our checking account. I informed the DH last night about getting new luggage. I said, "I am not pulling up to the BC to check in, with our ghetto-fabulous luggage." He was like, "ok, well if it'll make you feel better, just cancel the Beach Club and move to the Pop Century. You shouldn't feel bad about the luggage there." Let's just say, I made him see things my way, and I need to keep looking for luggage I like.

I know what you mean about thriving on the chaotic, I too am a bit like that.Or at least thrive on being busy. On our slower weekend days I go a bit crazy if I am not doing something. Actually discovering the Dis has helped me learn to sit and relax a little bit.
Actually, anytime I am on the DIS, I have another tab open watching a TV show.
The DH just got home, and he just brought me wonderful news. The car he drives for work, is one he parent's had bought. He spent $100 on a new battery today, and now the check engine light is one yet again. We had this same issue with the check engine light the last time his parent's to the lake house. He never had an issue with that car (Kia Rondo) until his parent's started driving it to the lake house. It's "more comfortable" for his mom to ride in than her truck (Nissian Frontier, 4 door). The last time, it was because they put crappy gas in it. I don't know if that's what happened this time. I'm just afraid some of my Disney money is going toward it.
SO FAR BEHIND......
Sooooooo IF I were doing WDW...which my DH said no...again...I could do ADRsthinking of doing some just in case....looks like Hard Rock for August and WDW in 2014
I know I should stop being a brat about it...stopping by to say a big Good Morning![]()

I hate having to use Disney money for real life stuff.
Wookie- hope nothing serious with the vehicle...I know how expensive that can get.
Have a great day all ~
Cynthia
Janet BFF what can I say...Samshe is beautiful
Janet - I'm glad Sam had fun at the dance. She sure sounds like an amazing young lady.![]()
My kitchen aid stand mixer was my grandmas from the '70s...not the cool colors but it still is going strong.
I'm always on the phone app for the dis and never see any sigs... as a matter of fact I didn't put in the December trip with the band or our upcoming trip June 25-July 5
Have a great day all ~

Wookie, congrats on getting your paper finished.happy that your check engine light went out... that happened to us too as we just had the car inspected on Sat.
As my luck would have it.. was driving to the Y on Sat morning and got pulled over... knew exactly as our inspection had expired in December (just realized it on thursday)... the officer was nice about it when I explained my appt was for that day.. got off with a warning, and had to have the mechanic fill out a form to prove I had the car inspected.... but no ticket!!![]()
