I have a cat who truly has 9 lives. He is 16yo and we have spent his whole life trying to make him be an indoor cat. When he was younger(til a year ago) he was an escape artist. He would take off for 3 or 4 days, come home eat and sleep, and eat and sleep for a week or two then try to do it again. There were times when he was gond longer, a week to ten days. Once he was gone for quite some time and came home badly beat up. We took him to the vet and had him put back together. He stayd in for a month or two then started trying to get out. Another time he came home with a broken abscess with a nasty insect infestation which we had to remove. Gross. My vet used to laugh when we brought Cleo(named for the goldfish in Pinochio) into his office and ask how many lives he had left.
Now this time he was gone over 3 weeks. I truly gave him up for dead. We called all of the shelters, asked around the neighborhood and lookd for him but no Cleo. Yesterday the humane society called and said we have your orange and white, skinny, no-teeth, meowing cat. He has been living at the local donut and breakfast place all this time. They saw he was missing teeth and have been feeding him soft things and milk. They only took him to the humane society because we had a terrible rain storm with flooding.
The funny thing is the humane society, like the vet always say he looks so young for his age.
