And The Beat Goes On....

The thing that I wouldn't be too happy about it that is says you will visit 10 attractions, but you don't exactly know what those are. If it is truly some of the attractions that you would normally use fastpasses for, then it might be worth taking the afternoon tour when crowds are heaviest. You could get in a good morning plan while crowds are low, and use the tour to have a more hassle free afternoon. I would definitely want to know the specific attractions that I would visit ahead of time though.

Another thing you can easily do on your own.

Only difficult ride mentioned is Peter pan, and that one usually isn't too hard to get a FP for.

But you get a free mickey ice cream bar included!

:D

To be fair - if the choice is this or selling additional FP+ I'll go with this - heck - raise the price to $300 at peak times! (I'm sure the original plan was selling FP+ but rides are all near capacity and the additional cost would have to be lower (say $30 for 3 FP+) so any additional sales would be "small" and further muck up the parks.)

Haha, I am super excited about this!

It's replacing their "Ultimate VIP tour for families" that they used to offer. Why am I excited? Well, it's a 4 hour VIP tour, which is perfect for kids who still nap. We have done the private VIP tour and the 7 hours is a killer on my kids. We never did the ultimate vip for families tour, but that one too, was 7 hours.

VIP tours are never "worth it" but for $199 (minus Disney Visa if that is still true, was true for ultimate tours), we can do 10 rides + mickey in 4 hours. I'll take that. MUCH cheaper than 4 hours of a private VIP tour. And while you don't "need" FP+s for many of these rides (I imagine), I doubt you could do 10 of them in 4 hours without this...

we will do it in feb/mar and I'll report back...

Yeah, but... "Don't expect any thrills though, as the tour is designed not to have any height restrictions." So much for the mountains and 7DMT.

My kids won't ride those anyway. I think this is going to work for pre-K or K families that still nap. The ultimate families tour didn't have any thrills (no 7dmt either). The big difference is that was 7 hours, this is 4. Again, big plus for napping families.

I'll get my fill of 7DMT via EMM and DAH, but this is prefect to knock out my kids favorite rides.

I think that this tour is lame but if others like it more power to them.

Anyway, Peter Pan is better through the standby line.

They list 7 of the 10 attractions. If you get there at rope drop, you could do those 7 in about 2 hours, including waiting in line for all of these, especially to meet Mickey at Town Square. So, I don't know why it would take 4 hours to do this. I bet we did this on 12/30 this year, excluding Mickey, in less than 4 hours, one of the busiest days of the year.

Obviously it's not for everyone. But right now, MDE is listing 60 min for Peter Pan and 25 min for Jungle Cruise. I didn't look at others. We did most of these attractions 12/21-12/22 and maybe we are bad at FP or touring, but this would have saved us time and effort (SDFPs, etc). Even the best touring plan be pretty much impossible to do all this starting at 1:30pm...

This sounds like a fun challenge.
Say I get a fp for Peter Pan, Pirates and Jungle Cruise.
the other 2 attractions listed are IASMW and Dumbo
What are the other 4 attractions they speak of (other than meeting Mickey)? Winnie the Pooh? Teacups? Little Mermaid? Aladdin's Carpet?
I might try and see how many of these I can go on in 4 hours.
To be fair on the tour page is says "at least 10" so I guess it depends on the speed which the group walks from one place to the next

I did specifically say rope drop. I was assuming a 9am opening, no morning EMH. Maybe you can schedule the tour start for later; however, I had gotten the impression from previous threads, that they scheduled these in the morning. I could be wrong.

You forgot Little Mermaid. I wonder if they are counting Mickey as one of the attractions. I think the only attraction you listed as one of the others that can get busy is Pooh. I put the listed attractions into Touring Plans for late July starting at rope drop and used Town Square Mickey for the meet & greet. The day is listed as a 6. It said they could be done in less than 2.5 hours, but I have found Touring Plans to be pessimistic for our family. I think we walk "with purpose" and don't dawdle unintentionally. I kept all the settings, ie walking speed and waiting vs walking, at the default.

You can do the tour at 8:30am or 1:30pm. It's obviously more "cost effective" if you did the tour at 1:30pm.

With these kind of experiences you are paying for convenience, meaning not "running" to PP at RD. One other benefit is that you'll still have 3 (prime) FP+s for the other half of the day, including the possibility of another park.

Interesting, I thought about seeing what TP said, thanks for doing it! Just out of curiosity, did you use FPs in the touring plan? To get the full "value" (again, no real value with any of these VIP tours), you would want to save your FPs for the other part of the day or another park.

I didn't use any FP+, all standby.

I just made a touring plan for march 3, day relevant to me and I'm considering doing this tour on. I used no FPs.

10 attractions: mickey, small world, peter pan, jungle cruise, pirates, magic carpets (*), pooh (*), journey of little mermaid (*), dumbo, mad tea party (*)

(*) = attractions not specified in promo, but I picked based on their fitting the theme

start @ 8:30 - 265 min total, 170 min in line

start @ 1:30 - 330 min total, 234 min in line

So, for $200 per person, you would save a predicted 25 min at 8:30, but it's a better "deal" at 1:30 and you save a predicted 1 hour 30 min.

It's certainly less impressive than I thought it would be...

Exactly. For that price, it'd be cheaper to add an extra day.
