people who know me on here may remember us having loads of flight changes last year and had to cancel etc, rebook then get more flight changes etc.

Well....

Just had a call from our agents Trailfinders to say that the flight from MCO to ORD (Chicago O'Hare) has been moved from 15:30 to 16:16, this means that we will have only 50 mins in Chicago and not enough time to connect.

Now the nice people at United offered us an alternative flight to the 15:30, the time is wait for it.....09:20!!! this would get us into ORD at just after 11am and would mean 8 hours at Chicago. After i had spluttered my coffee all over the PC i said that was unacceptable as that would ruin our last night holidays.

They have offered us a flight from TPA (Tampa) to ORD at 15:15 but we have to pay £86 more for the 4 of us for this "priveledge" I have had to tell them to reserve them seats from Tampa but said I was disgusted that we were expected to pay it.

I am totally fuming and has ruined my day, we are on such a tight budget to get to Orlando this year it is coming right out of our spending money. :badpc:

Oh Rob

I cant believe this is happening again to you, how much bad luck can one person have with flight changes. :grouphug:

I definatley would not want the 8 hour stop over and your right I think its awful that they are charging you to change.

Let us know if you manage to sort anything out. Good Luck Rob. :goodvibes

I would take a swipe at Tampa being quite a different prospect to Orlando Int, hopefully a little less busy.

:grouphug:
not a nice way to spend your birthday...

Good luck Rob, its so darn annoying when they do that and expect you just to go 'oh yes, an 8 hour delay spent hanging around an airport - great idea!'
hopefully you'll get it sorted soon

That's not good news Cochise.

The least that they could do would be to waive the additional costs.

Kev

Sorry to hear that Rob...count to 10 slowly...
this happened to us actually,we booked with pheleus fogg. bmi flight into washington then connecting flight to mco. we got flight tickets 2 weeks before our flight, only to find that the connecting flight was cancelled and we had an 8 hour wait in washington.we landed at mco gone midnight :furious:
pheleus fogg said that they had sent out a letter to tell us of the change, but infact they hadnt.

hope you get it sorted Rob, and try and enjoy the rest of your birthday. :wizard:

Rob, that's awful! As if you hadn't had enough bad luck with the flights already!

I hope they can sort something out for you.

The lass at trailfinders is a gud un, she will keep an eye on theTED flights over the coming months. The long term scheluded time is 15:29 for the flight i want and not 16:16 so am confused totally with this.

I want an easy holiday please

A similar thing happened to us last year. I only found out by chance a couple of months before we were due to fly that our connecting flight had been changed and was actually due to take off before our flight from the UK had even landed. We were offered an alternative too - which would have involved an 8 hour stopover in Washington.

That was BMI/United too - from Manchester. Sounds like this happens regularly.

We ended up cancelling our flights (booked with Airline Network) and rebooking on US Airways with Expedia. It cost us more money in the end too.

Poor you - I hope you get it sorted.

It makes me realise though, that we will have to stick with a direct flight :teeth:

The odds may be with you but it doesn't make you immune from problems alas. ;) We've had return overnight flight delays 3 times (hotel accommodation provided): with BA, Virgin and a charter airline.

If I'm flying economy I like to fly indirectly, preferably with a short second leg from Boston. Like the OP, I've had changes imposed that have meant a stopover of 5 hours or so at Boston and with a good book and a meal, have never found this a problem. Got to say that I wouldn't want to do this with children however.

Cochise, I hope the rest of your planning is straighforward and your trip to Tampa airport hassle free - we flew home from Tampa last year with BA and it was just fine, although we were staying in Clearwater at the time.
