Today I have started back on WW points. I tried core but I found that it was just too easy for me to justify overeating. Soooooo....back to points. Now I know I will get into the swing of it again but in the beginning it is so hard because I am trying to plan meals etc. All I can think about today is what I can eat!:scared1: I swear by the end of the day I will be eating my own arm because since it is connected to me it will be zero points! :rotfl2:

That's it. Vent over. Now I will get busy here to keep my mind off of food.
:cutie:

Here's wishing you good luck. WW points is the only way I have been successful with weight loss. I know the first few days can be really hard. I have never thought about eating my arm, but I suppose it would count as 0 points :rotfl:

I have been trying to get back on the points system for about a month now. I start for about 2 or 3 days, then give up. I am hoping to find some inspiration here on the WISH boards.

Hope things go well for you.

Good for you to know you need a change. You can do this!

Onward and downward you go!

stick to it...and I am saying that to you, as much as I am to myself. I joined ww on Dec 11 and had a great first 8 weeks...then hit a bit of a plateau...I know exactly why though...WAS NOT CAREFUL ABOUT TRACKING EVERY LAST BITE!!!! I need to get back on track right away...so here's to hoping we can all do it together!

so I know exactly how u feel. I have a hard time with the points because I don't eat anything "artificial" . This means if I want salad dressing or mayo or sour cream on my potato, it seriously wounds me! The killer for me is the half-n-half in my coffee. Since I don't do fat free anything three cups of coffee with no sugar cost me 6 points for the creamer! That's more than I use for lunch and breakfast!

I know as I get into it more I'll get used to it, but right now I could also, chew my arm off! Thank goodness for those "bonus points!"

Me too! We eat whole foods and no fake stuff. That eliminates so much stuff that is low points besides veggies. Sometimes you just want a piece of cake!
So now I am at day 3. Every time I think of giving up I tell myself if I just suck it up now I will lose the weight before I know it. I know I need to exercise too but to be honest I am so tired this week that I just do nto feel like it. Hopefully today I can get back on track with that too.
The one thing that I have found to help is if I constantly keep busy - playing with the kids and cleaning- then I don't think about eating. Once I sit and my hands aren't occupied I want a bag of chips or something.
A woman I know yesterday told me about these granola bars that are 1 point. They are organic with flax and punpkin seeds etc. She said it takes a little getting used to but for one point I am sure I will get used to them just fine! I am going to go look for them in Stop and Shop today.

We need to keep this thread going to support each other! I hope everyone has a great day!:goodvibes

WW is the only plan that works for me too. I was doing it around the holidays and was doing great. Drove DH nuts with what I could and couldn't eat but it was working. Then I got sick and fell off the wagon. Haven't been able to get back on since. I really need to and this inspires me to try again. I need to get my pressure and sugar down again as well as my weight.

I just got home from work and am a little hungry, but only used 2.5 of my "bonus" points. Plus I'm on my feet walking for 6 hours so I get extra points today. Still tough, but not nearly as tough as yesterday! I know that I eat when I'm bored, so I have been keeping busy.

I hope the rest of you made out OK today too!

G'night!
Karen

Okay ladies how are we all doing? :goodvibes
I am still hanging strong. I need to be better about exercise but the kids have been sick and well, I'd rather sleep if I get 5 minutes.
I am following my points but I need more help finding low point snacks. I have to check out some websites to see what I can come up with.
How is everyone else doing?

Sorry, but I have been lurking here on your thread and wondering how it was going for you all. Were you forced to eat any more limbs?

Just a word.... fat free evaporated milk works well in coffee and it would probably work out to be less points than real half and half or cream. And there is nothing artificial in FF evap milk.... they just remove the water. As far as other things go (like salad dressings, etc) you may find that if you look at a few labels, there are several out there without lots of nasty chemicals that are reasonably low points. Or you could try making your own. The Paul Newman's Light Balsamic Vinegrette is fairly wholesome. The only "questionable" ingredient is Xantham gum, which I believe is just a filler (made from seaweed maybe??)... nothing chemically or HFCS or transfat.

I have pretty much given up mayo except on egg salad and chicken salad. I put brown mustard and/or guacamole on most sandwiches now. Would I still love the mayo?... SURE... but it is not worth the points. Maybe you could try this.

I've been on WW for 15 straight months now (not counting the 12 months of 2003 and numerous previous starts and stops along the way). I think it is FINALLY sinking in that I need to be making these changes FOR A LIFETIME. So I am really trying hard to make permanent changes in my eating habits and food attitudes.

Anyhow, just wondering how you all are doing... looking forward to hearing your success stories!......................P

Thank you so much for the great advice. I am still plugging along. I have had a few slipups but overall I am doing pretty okay. I have been writing down what I eat and I don't think I am chosing good foods. For example, I'd rather have 4 cups of coffee than a nice salad. I am trying to eat more protein and less empty food. The weight is coming off so slowly though so some days I feel like throwing in the towel. I won't though. I will keep on going. I want to be healthy and I want to be 40-50lbs lighter. I feel better that way. So I will make better choices even if it is hard. They say after six weeks of doing something it becomes a habit. So hopefully that is true.:cutie:
I am glad to hear that you are making a go of it too. It is so easy to gain the weight and like root canal to get it off!
Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

i tried that "flex" points program and found that it was way to hard for me to eat well and i was STARVING because i wouldn't want to use those extra points. i ended up getting discouraged and stopped ww. i decided almost 2 years later that i'm going to try ww again and i'm going back to the old tried and true ww points method. i lost almost 30 lbs with that method successfully back in 2003, so i figure it can't hurt to try it again.

i like the menu planning part. if i eat a hearty enough lunch, then i'm not thinking about how much i can't wait for dinner to come along. although, i like figuring out what i'm having for dinner. i never used to be too much of a cook, but i have a crockpot now and man is that awesome to make some healthy meals in!

my best advice is eat tons of fiber! it fills you up and makes the points values lower.

Are you all WW members? I hate to pay for something like that but I am eating well I would say 80% of the time, working out for an hour a day, and still not losing!
