So, having made a Cinderella dress for my 3yo neice,( she has a speach problem, and the therpist is thrilled with her reactin to it-she said 3 new words!!),as fancy as possible we have not been able to get a ps at Cindys Bkf. OR at the Cindy Gala Fest at GF

We, 4 (hahah)adults, and 2 children, are going 10/13-10/18.
Going to MNSSHP on 10/14, Thur, and wanted to do dinner at CindyGalaFeast at the GF at the earliest time, 5:15.
If we show up without a ps will we be waiting a long time.... over 30min -1hour? To her that would be long.

We are calling at 6:55am and hitting redial every morning...

So what do you think?
Would rather eat dinner then b'fast.
Thanks, folks!

My SIL got through to make a ps and they told us that they only had a setting for 10-12 for 10/14. They would not make a ps for us because there were not enought in our party. Did we get a misinformed CM? or is this something that happens a lot?

Under those circumstances I would probably be at the restaurant, lined up, at opening time. I would try to arrive about 20 minutes before opening, and just have a way to call the rest of the family (including the kids) to say "we're being seated now" and let them enjoy the lobby and shops while you hold vigil for a table. It will probably be a wait of 20 minutes or so past opening time, but that is your best bet to get in and out in time to make the party.

I'd be completely prepared that you might not get seated at all. Sometimes when a restaurant is sold out, it's sold out and won't seat any walk-ups due to the high number of PS's. There are many reports of people without PS's getting turned away at restaurants, so you should be prepared for that. You're best bet is to show up BEFORE the restaurant opens and check with the podium, but with the popularity of any of the Princess meals, a walk-up isn't a guarantee, even with a long wait. Also, you probably will encounter a long wait without a PS, since you probably will have to wait until a party doesn't show for you to be escorted to your table.

Why not just have lunch in Cinderella's castle. It is quite nice..although all the characters are not there. More often than not you can find cinderella and fairy godmother.

I'd make a PS, but don't be surprised if you don't even get one or get in at all at this late date. If they say there are none available, call every day till you get there.

These are very popular places.

But she can wear her dress in the parks and everywhere. :)

I'd heard, not sure if it's true or not, that resort resturants always have walk ups available. Someone on these boards said that it was because of wanting hotel guest to be able to eat at the hotel even if they didn't think to make PS.

The reason I think this might be true is because we had a PS for two for the first seating at 1900 PF. We needed a PS for three, almost canceled because I didn't want to take DNiece to another buffet without DH. I tried up until the day before, no dice on the 3 person PS. Day before I stopped in at 1900 PF and explained the problem to the desk person, they said to come and just say we were a party of three not two. It wasn't a problem at all. And after all that calling (everyday for a while) we were easily seated at a four top and I looked around 45 mins after we were seated and tables were still empty all over the resturant.

I would try going at opening and seeing what I could get, or even try making a PS for 3 or 4 (2 kids plus adults) if it was available and see if they had room for extra when you get there.

Not true for character meals. I've seen people turned away all the time from Chef Mickey's, which is also at a resort. Yes, some of the resort restaurants don't run to capacity, but the character meals are a different animal. Also, it is not unusual for a restaurant to not be fully occupied when it opens, as they try to fill the restaurant gradually, so people leave gradually, and they can continuely offer different seating times. Otherwise, they'd fill the restaurant to capacity at opening, everyone would leave around the same time, and then they'd have to seat another whole restaurant, not very efficient.

Holding reservations at hotel restaurants isn't true at any restaurant. People have been told "no-go" at Narcoosee's, California Grill and Flying Fish as well.

If it were me, I'd keep calling to try to snag a cancellation, but if push came to shove, I wouldn't try to get in without a PS. There are too many other great things to do in MK. Plus, there should be many opportunities to see (and perhaps meet) Cinderella and all the other princesses over the course of a several days' stay.

We had had dinner at the Crystal Palace with pooh last week when it was not crowded at all in the parks and there were people without PS's that had gotten there around 5 and didn't get in until 7:00 which I don't think is worth it because of all the other fun things you could be doing.

Don't give up! Call the 800 #s a few times a day at different times. We were able to get a table at CRT because of a cancellation at 10:45pm one night. Dining is open from 7am -11pm everyday. CM also told us to try 72, 48 or 24 hours before we wanted a PS because that is when the majority of the cancellations come in especially CRT.
Also, last May, we went to 1900 Park Faire with a party of 10 at the opening time and were able to get in with only a 15 minute wait after we tried repeatedly to get PS before our trip and were not able to.
It is also helpful if you could be flexible about the date.
Good Luck!

There is a 800 number?
Help...anyone know what it is?
Thanks again and allways!

I think it can never hurt to try just showing up without a PS and see what happens, as long as you have a backup plan. A couple of years ago in September, we decided very last minute that we would like to have dinner that night at California Grill. We called for PS and were told that there were no more PS's available for that night. We decided to go anyway and see what happened. When we went up to the podium, the hostess said that we could wait for a table but it sounded very doubtful that we would be seated anytime soon. We weren't in a hurry so we decided to have a drink in the lounge and wait for a while. Well, we no sooner got our drinks and they called us for our table. Granted, October might be a little busier and Character meals are a little more popular, but it can't hurt to get there early and see what happens. If it doesn't work out, you could always go next door to the Grand Floridian Cafe. (At least you'd be able to eat). Give it a try.

By the way, we will be there 10/10 to 10/18. See you there!

I show up at Chef Mickey's all the time without a PS and get in. Sometimes I have to wait a bit but who cares.

This past April I couldn't get a PS at 1900 Park Fare for dinner. We went to the hotel and tried to get seating, but they weren't taking walk-ins. I called for weeks before going hoping for a cancellation, but couldn't get in. We ended up taking the monorail over to Chef Mickey's and got in after about an hour wait. It worked out for us because we were able to ride in the front of the monorail - the kids weren't disappointed about missing the Park Fare dinner.
