So how will it be when we are there in Oct (2-7)???

We are trying to get our packing sorted, and with 3 kids I always over pack :rotfl: -- trying to avoid that a bit with all these baggage charges. What should we expect??

Thanks!!!

Getting super excited!! :banana::banana::banana:

(must be! already packing!)

Disneyland is usually beautiful and sunny in early October. You can check almanacs to get an idea -- I use http://www.almanac.com/weather/longrange/CA/Anaheim (long range weather) and http://www.almanac.com/weather/history/CA/Anaheim/2010-10-02 (weather history - search by day and year) though of course you never know for sure!

The easiest thing is to wear/dress the kids in light layers you can put on & take off as needed, plus we take sweatshirts for the cooldown at night (still usually in the high 60s) and pack ponchos just in case -- though it hasn't rained on us yet wk of Oct 9 three years running.

Last year when we were there Oct 31st - Nov 7th they had record highs...Like low 100's, it was CRAZY, luckily there is a Target down the street where we were able to stock up on cheap tank tops and shorts! Its very unlikely that will happwn but at least its an option if you should run into that sort of issue...

According to the weather channel ... 10 day forecast for anaheim (i know :goodvibes ... 10 days from now is Sept 30th) high of 78 and low of 61 :thumbsup2

We usually go in October. I am from Phoenix, AZ so let's just say me and the cold don't have a good realationship. I'm usually comfortable in a long sleeved shirt and jeans all day long. Sometimes it can be a little warm in the sun so I just push my sleeves up. I will wear a light jacket/cardigan in the mornings, and a full on wool peacoat, gloves, hat, and scarf at night (like I said not very cold tolerant :laughing:). I usually put my daughter in the same as me, maybe add another layer at night/blanket in her stroller, as she doesn't have as much fat as me to keep her warm. I have been OK is short sleeves, but tend to get chilled in the shady areas of the park.

My very thin Florida blood is scared of this. :) But I am bringing layers and we are going to have a great trip no matter what!!

Another Phoenix resident (aka weather wimp) here. When we went last October, it was pretty cool and gloomy/rainy for the entire trip. I was glad I had a warm fleece sweatshirt. We had shorts and capri pants along, but we wore our heavy sweatshirts all day every day.

Every time we've gone to DL, even if the weather forecast says warm and sunny, we've always had at least one day where it rained (at least in the morning) and was chilly.

Good luck!

candygirlIRE, I'm from Canada as well and I find I always overpack when I go to California. I'll be there the week before you so if I remember I'll let you what I ended up wearing. I am going to try and take as little as possible but us northerners always think it's going to be cold no matter how much we know in comparison, CA is nothing like here, unless it's summertime. :laughing:

I've been twice in October, and both times it was much warmer than I'm used to here in Vancouver. However - it did get cool at night, and both trips we had one day of major rain.

We will be there the same week! We are coming from CO so used to cooler temps- I am worried that we will need warmer stuff for CA. We are driving so can pack a lot but I feel I need to bring the summer and fall clothes just in case. We are so excited, though! :cool1:

A hoodie for the Evening/Night will be all you will need :thumbsup2 .... otherwise it's still pretty warm/comfortable here during the days. Jeans, T-shirt will work just fine and add a hoodie after sunset.

Aw yes - Rain is supposed to start this Friday night into the weekend. Off and on through the middle of the week. It will be nice for the cool down, but not for the Halloween party.
