Anaheim to Santa Monica: public transport

Does anyone know the best way to get from Anaheim to Santa Monica by public transport?

I just tried the Trip Planner on http://www.mta.net (MTA being the public transit organization for Los Angeles County) and entered Disneyland and Santa Monica as the start and end points of a trip. It gave me 5 different options, typically involving the MTA 460 bus, which stops right at the Disneyland Harbor Blvd bus entrance and takes you to downtown L.A., and a bus to get you from downtown to Santa Monica. For me the first option was going to take 2 1/2 hours and cost $3.50. Give it a try.

Glad to help. One thing to note is that DL is in Orange County, so you might also want to use the web site of the Orange County Transit Authority (http://www.octa.net) for getting around the DL area.

And one last tip - if you want to take the train (Amtrak or Metrolink) use the Fullerton station since the OCTA #43 bus takes you right there from the DL area, while the Anaheim station is about a half mile from the nearest bus stop.
