Hi,

We will be flying back from LAX at 09:45 on Thursday 8th August. Just wondering if someone could advise of the best route to take from Anaheim (the Ho Jo) to hopefully try and avoid congestion?

Rather than using the Google Maps suggestion of the 91 and 105, would the 22 onto the 405 be a better option?

I suspect that the 35 / 41 mins journey time quoted respectively could be a little optimistic as we are planning on arriving at the airport around 07:15 to drop off our rental car!!

Many thanks.

22 to 405 is crazy busy from 5AM until close to 10AM. 91 to 105 just slightly
better. I would say it's literally a coin toss. You arrival time will help some,
but you should still figure closer to 90 minutes. I've done both routes. I've
done it in just under 60 minutes and it's taken me more than 90.

Thanks - I suspected it would be a longer drive than google times!!! Looks like an early start for us that morning :faint:

The one advantage you'll have on the 91-105 is that you'll be able to use carpool lanes.

I recommend 5 north (get in carpool lane, which has exit to 91) to 91 west (start moving over a bit after Beach Blvd so you can get in right lane) to 605 north (stay to the right) to 105 west (get in carpool lane) and get off on Aviation exit. You'll be on Imperial Hwy, turn left, get in right lane as soon as you can. Turn right on Aviation to get to car rental places.

Thanks Mary Jo - that is the route that Google Maps is suggesting. Will using the carpool lanes speed up the journey significantly?

I concur with Mary Jo. I live in one of the beach cities and work across the street from LAX. I travel to Disneyland at least twice a month and this is the best route.

Thanks again for the info. Seems a bit sad thinking about planning our journey back to the airport when we still have 10 weeks or so before we arrive in the USA!!!!

Can I hijack since the OP got a great answer?

Disneyland Resort Express says they leave DLH 1 hour before arrival at LAX. We'd like to arrive by 8:15 for a 10:15 flight on Tuesday morning. Is the 7am shuttle early enough if the consensus here is as long as a 90 min ride? Should we leave at 6am (yikes) instead?
