We have been to LA and San Diego several times, also the OC beaches, all great trips.

This time we'll be leaving Anaheim and going East, not sure where yet, but towards the Corona, San Bernadino, Joshua Tree area. It will be in July so HOT but we've BTDT in the Hot July Desert, and actually love it. Joshua Tree was stunning and are open to doing it (driving thru it) again.

Not sure where we'll 'end up' but probably heading eventually to Palm Springs and / or Vegas.

It will depend on what we want to do for a couple days after Disneyland, so hope you experts can recommend something to do or experience in that area.

TIA!

Palm Desert, Vegas, Joshua Tree are fine stops. There is nothing to do in Corona or San Bernardino.

Thanks for your reply. :goodvibes

I also found Pres. Nixon's birthplace & museum (and Library) in Yorba Linda.
(those 'Libraries" are always an extensive type museum of the era, more than 'books' in a Library)

Also some kitchy fun stuff along old historic Rt 66. We've done a lot of Rt 66 stuff in other states but not CA, other than the end point in Santa Monica.

I live in the Palm Springs area. What are you interested in doing?

Just saw your post! (?!)

We like just about anything.

I found some Historic Rt 66 stuff that looks kitchy but fun for a stop. Museums are sometimes good, especially as a break from weather, or driving. Hiking is good too, depending on weather of course.

We'd like to do the Wind Farm tour (is that the name?) in the PS area, but heard they're not always offered in July due to the heat or high winds.

So basically we're open to anything. TIA.

Well, the dinosaurs are right off the 10 freeway before you get to Palm Springs. Cute little museum. Definitely kitschy. You should stop for a date shake in Indio, and see the little movie they have about the history of the dates in this area. Before you get to Indio, off the Washington Street exit, you can find a hike where you can literally see the San Andreas fault line as a gigantic crack in the ground. The Palm Springs tramway is pretty nice in the summer, as well.

I can say I lived in Corona and Riverside and there is nothing there to really see or do. I like Vegas and Palm Springs. It is hot in the summer months.

Sounds fun! Love doing stuff we can't find anywhere else!

So whats the name of the date shake place, and address?

Also, where would we find the hike to see the San Andreas fault?

THanks a bunch! :goodvibes

Shields Date Gardens 80225 CA HWY 111, Indio, CA 92201

Hike at the Coachella Valley Preserve, Interstate 10 exit Ramon Road left, left again on Thousand Palms Road. You will want to hike the Pushawalla Palms Trail to see the fault line and oasis due to the water seeping through the fault. 6 mile round trip and it will be HOT. Lots of water and sunscreen. Totally worth it.
