Help me make a decision!!

Anaheim Plaza Hotel OR Desert Inn & Suites

Some info: We are on a girls week (well, a few days) quick trip to DL before continuing on to Vegas. We wanted someplace close to DL, but are willing to walk. The Anaheim Plaza Hotel is $32 cheaper in total, so we were leaning more toward that one; it's a little farther away, but not much and we don't mind.

We basically need a CHEAP, CLEAN, room within walking distance to DL. So if you were us, which hotel would you pick! :goodvibes

Thanks and happy holidays! :santa:

Having stayed at the Anaheim Plaza, I'd go with that one. I know Desert Inn is popular with others on this board, but I know nothing about it. Anaheim Plaza is supposed to be renovating. Ask for the higher numbered rooms. I had no problem with it, and if you just need it for sleeping, go for it.

I've stayed at both several times, but I haven't gone back to the Desert Inn since I discovered Anaheim Plaza Hotel. The rooms are bigger and nicer, and it is much, much quieter! If you don't mind a 3 minute longer walk and no continental breakfast, then I'd go there.

Just remembered Anaheim Plaza charges for parking, so keep that in mind.

We wanted to go with the cheaper hotel, but not if the quality was substantially lower.

We may do the breakfast buffet instead of lunch in the parks = maximize park time! Otherwise, we tend to take snacks with us to munch on, so continental breakfast isn't a "must have".

And we won't have a car - using Supershuttle to and from airport, so parking isn't an issue.

Any additional thoughts, comments, etc. are welcome. We like to know as much about a place as possible before we stay! :goodvibes

About a week ago I posted a detailed review of our experience at the Desert Inn and Suites with pictures. We were very happy with our stay there. It is super close and was very clean.

Well my family was at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel last week. The room was nice and spacious. However we had some minor/cleanliness issues. We started in a room in the 200' complex. The walls looked dirty and the ceiling had off colored puddy every now n then that id guess that they used to do minor repairs with. Oh well, nothing to big of a deal. Next morning we go to take a shower about 9 am ( late start family lol) the water was cold from the start. (all of us sucked it up just so we could get going) No hot water what soever though. We went and complained, and they said that was a common issue with that building. So they moved us to a new room in the 500' section. Ok we move luggage into our new room. My mom went to go to the bathroom and noticed when she close the opened the toilet seat there was urine all around the seat, as if a lil boy forgot to lift up the seat... gross imo :sad2: so we call the front desk and complain once again.

Well waiting for the maid we were checking everything else when we noticed in the shower had hair still in the tub, along with what looked like soap scum on the walls. Along with that there were long hairs all over the recliner chair that was in the room. Tell all this stuff to the maid when they get there, they said ok and we went to enjoy the park. Came back that night everything was fine. Next day got up went to the park, n came back. The maids did not leave glasses, only left 1 towel, and 3 outta 4 pillows didnt have pillow cases ( kinda disgusted on the pillow's look too :scared1: had some odd stains ) Call and complained. That was our major problem. Most times we would come back to no cups, an unmade bed, n trash left in trashcans.

Now i dont know if i just got unlucky this trip or what. But im not sure ill go for them when they are just $10-$20 cheaper yet charge for cars and all the stress on room quality. Just my two-cents.

*ends rant/rave* :thumbsup2
