i have reservations for the desert inn and suites and since ive read the new report on bed bugs, i cant stop scratching! alas im on a hunt for a new hotel for my tribe of 2 adults and 4 children. keep in mind, 1 adult snores like a mac truck and the other adult (me) is the lightest sleeper ya ever did meet! so we dont sleep together on holiday. hes in one room with 2 of the kids and im in the other with 2 kids. but we like connnecting rooms. and we dont like bed bugs! and we like walking distance.

should we stay with desert inn or does anaheim plaza hotel look better since it didnt make the bedbugregistry.com website?

help??!!!! im leaving soon.

I'm the snore of our group...
I pack complimentary ear plugs for the others.

Has the snorer tried the breathe-right strips across the nose?

Good luck getting your hotel arrangements in order for the trip.

We have tried everything. He's getting a mouth guard on Wednesday so maybe there is hope!

We just got back from 5 nights at DI&S and had not problems. it was our 3rd visit there and everything has always been fine, so I really hope the bedbugs issue (lots of hotels have them) was an isolated incident. I'm with you re the snorer.....we always need separate rooms too!!

We just got back from anaheim plaza and it was great. Huge pool, really hot jacuzzi, short walk, great happy hour. Request a ground floor with a balcony.

I'm am currently staying at ds&I. Laying in bed actually. We haven't had any problems with bed bugs in our room on the second floor and we have been here since wednesday. I've been enjoying my stay here so far, better then del sol and ramada maingate. Front desk was polite and so are the lot attendants. We haven't anything to bum our trip yet! Just my opinion on the hotel :)

Glad everything is going well for you. Reading about the bugs makes me itch.

Thank you for an encouraging update.
I hope it will ease those with reservations at DI&S.
Changing locations can be difficult and costly at the last minute.

We stayed at the Anaheim Plaza in September 2011 for a girls trip (got a GREAT deal on a room, $59/night through Expedia) and will never stay there again.

In our opinion:
The pros: really big room with large balcony, close walk to the parks, cheap parking ($4/night), happy hour ($2 margaritas), great room rate. They also have "suites" which are adjoining rooms, which, if I remember correctly, were $89/night.

The cons: it was dirty. The carpet was filthy, there was hair all over the bathroom and tiled entry way when we arrived, there were spots on the sheets on the bed. These things may not be a big deal for other people, but for us it was a deal breaker. If we had been planning on staying at the hotel longer than we did (we were really only there at night to sleep and shower), we would have changed hotels.

However, there weren't bed bugs (at least in 2011), so I guess that is a pro!
