Anyone stay in a Family Suite at the Anaheim Plaza? Its the same size as a
c-2 family Suite at Desert Inn but much cheaper. Its exactly $200 cheaper than the Desert Inn for the same days. I actualy have one room booked at both hotels and I am making up my mind. I don't care about the stupid breakfast I will hit Vons at some point and pick up my own food.

any input

thanks

We just got back yesterday from staying at the Anaheim Plaza. It wasn't the Family Suite, but next room over (reg. room) the suite room doors were open and it looked really nice. Just make sure you ask for a microwave and a ironing board and iron.....there was a group of 61 of us and not all of us had microwaves or ironing boards and irons, if one of us had a microwave they didn't have an iron....kinda weird. We also stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites this past May and we liked the Anaheim Plaza much better:wizard: it was a little longer of a walk, but room was more comfortable and let me tell ya, we did not eat the con. breakfast at Desert Inn :scared: it was an icky old danish and coffee. We went to the grocery store this trip and also highly recommend Mimi's for breakfast thanks to this board we tried it on this trip and loved it....husband is a big breakfast eater and was on :cloud9: after Mimi's. HTH enjoy your trip

I also haven't stayed in their family suite, but the lady who was cleaning the one next to my room let me have a look around as the guests had already checked out :) It was pretty big and comfortable looking. The room that I stayed in on that trip was HUGE for a one-bed room, and had its own balcony. I really, really enjoyed my stay there: it was clean and comfortable, and the price was right!

The Olympic-sized pool and the hot tub were great, as well.

Thanks. The price difference is huge, the pool looks wonderful, I am hoping its warm enough to use in Dec. The website claims at least 1 microwave in each suite, hope thats accurate. I would be upset if no microwave as we always pop pop corn for DL

oops, not Mimi's it's Millie's....sorry about that:upsidedow still tired from a Wonderful Disney vacation.

We stayed in the family suite in September. We are regulars of the Desert Inn, but decided to save $200 and give it a try. As for the rooms themselves, they are pretty similar. We had plenty of space for our family of 8. We had groceries delivered and were pleasantly surprised to find 4 fridges in suite! There were 2 in each room and that was great because of the amount of frozen breakfast items we had purchased. Plenty of room for them and our drinks. There was no microwave at first, but a call down to the front desk, and we had one right away. The room had just finished being remodeled and I think they just forgot to get one back in there.

Overall the hotel was fine for us, but we won't be staying there again. It gets to be a bit of a hike for the little ones at the end of a long day and the old musty smell that everyone talks about...yep, it's there and pretty strong.
