Anaheim Hilton or Disneyland Hotel for Feb Conference Stay?

Just found out I have to go to Anaheim for a work related conference next March. I would like to go a couple days early and check out the rehabbed DCA. I am considering asking my Mom to come with me. The conference will be at the Anaheim Hilton. Would it be better to stay at a Disney hotel and take a cab/ walk to the Hilton for the conference days or is the Hilton a great hotel super close to the parks? Website says one block but I am thinking that's one mighty large block. Which of the Disney hotels is closest to the Anaheim Hilton? Another option might be to switch hotels after the first three nights?

My Mom would likely rent an ECV to get around.

Any opinions?

If the ECV battery has a full charge your mom can drive it to/from Disneyland and the Hilton. Yes it's a long block that would feel even longer if you had to walk that far at the end of a long day at the parks, but an ECV is fun to drive and DH and I have driven even farther. Make sure the ECV is plugged into the battery charger all night long or you may need an emergency recharge at a restaurant while you have lunch or dinner.
