I just made a reservation for a suite with a spa at Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites for the first week of December. I selected this hotel because a) my DD6 loves jacuzzis b) we could get a suite for a reasonable price c) it has an indoor pool, and it looks like it might not be that warm in Dec. d) it isn't far to walk to DLR and e) it has a free breakfast. But... for those of you who have stayed there - did you like it? What were the pros and cons? Are we missing something special by not going to HoJos? Thanks!

PROS:
Great location....almost directly across from the pedestrian crossing to Disneyland
Price!

CONS:
The indoor pool is small.
The breakfast isn't all that.....just the standard small selection of pastries, fruit & drinks.
Parking is a nightmare especially if you have a larger vehicle.

This really is an okay place to stay.....even with the cons listed. We avoided the pool & the breakfast but found the rooms clean & the location can't be beat!!

For December, the pool is nice. Eventhough it's small, it's nice that it's indoors for the kids. The hot tub however, isn't that HOT. Last year I stayed at Anaheim Plaza with the HUGE outdoor pool and eventhough it was second week of Dec and it poured rain, it wasn't that cold and the hot tub was HOT.

I like the Desert Inn.:thumbsup2

Pros:
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Just a five minute walk and you're at the gates.

Clean and spacious rooms, specifically the Parlor Suite A.

"Underground parking" keeps your car cool.

Rooftop firework viewing. And if you're lucky a view from your room.

Cons:
Breakfast - very basic (muffins, danishes, cereal, bread, juice, etc.)

The noise of the fireworks bouncing off the buildings.

Desert Inn & Suites is our favorite hotel to stay in near Disneyland. We love how close it is and the staff is very friendly. We have never had a problem with the parking, but we always travel in non-peak season. The breakfast is perfect for our family and it gets us started in the morning and saves us a few dollars not having to buy food. Both of the times we've stayed at this hotel we had our room upgraded to a parlor suite instead of a standard room - it is so wonderful to have a view of California Adventure from the front of the room and a view of Disneyland from the back window!
