We stayed here from Sun to Wed and I just wanted to give a couple of insights for those who may be considering it. First and foremost, the location is amazing. It is literally right across the street from Disneyland. The room was very clean and always passed the white sock test. I was a little concerned about the mattress as I had heard they were too firm but I found it to be fine. It is true that the continental breakfast was lacking but there was an ihop and denny's on each side of the hotel.

We ended up getting stuck on the bottom floor and were able to hear the movements of everyone above us. Also, screaming children and maids carts can easily be heard outside. Certainly not a deal breaker but something to be aware of...

On a final note, there had been a bed bug warning on the boards a couple weeks back. After reading it I immediately called the hotel and talked to the front desk and they explained how serious they are about combatting bed bugs and calmed me down about it. I can confirm that the bed was free of all bugs and the room was very clean.:)

It was a great stay and we have absolutely found our hotel for future disney trips. If anyone has any questions, feel free to fire away!

I CAN NOT TELL YOU how glad I am that you posted this!! Seriously! We have a family of 7 and there wasn't very many hotels for the price we can afford to pay that would fit all of us. I had read the Bed bug thing to. I hand intended on going in my self and searching the room for bed bugs! I still will but I feel that I probably wont find anything either! ...fingers crossed.. We will be there the last week of May and I am no rest at ease a little by your report! I think it was good and fair review! Can you tell us what kind of room you were in? Thanks again for you review!

Thank you for taking the time to give us an update.
We have a stay there in a few weeks.
After the bad BB post I was a little nervous too.

It's nice to have a favorable post for a change.

I like the note of "white sock test"

Now if the weather will warm up a little for us.
I've been sitting in 30* weather here at home for too long..
Looking forward to warm SoCal weather..

Again Thanks!!!

Geemo

Anyone know what the layout of this hotel? For a quiet room should I request a upper floor near the back? Any advice would be appreciated! TIA:)

You are exactly correct. Back of the hotel, top floor. Enjoy your stay:)

I'm glad to have helped! We stayed in a standard room. I was very impressed by how seriously they took the bed bug issue. Have a great stay and enjoy the super short walk!

The elevator SUCKS. Much faster to take the stairs.

We ended up just taking the little one out of the stroller and carrying the stroller down. It is ETERNAL

We were in the middle of the building and in the middle floor. No noise problems for anyone who thinks it's a must to be at the back at the top. I'm a super light sleeper and the noises didn't effect me

Yeah mobility..I'd def get first floor. The elevator is old and just..SO crazy slow. It became COMICAL to us lol

The room was very clean and always passed the white sock test.

You are lucky! We just got back from a 6-night stay at the Grand Californian, and I'm sad to report that the $450/night premium theme park view room we had did NOT pass the white sock test. I was shocked. The service was impeccable with the exception of the dirtiness of the carpeting in the room. YUCK!

Thanks! Do they have all types of rooms on every floor?

This I honestly do not know. Call them tho, their front desk has always been WAY helpful to me. I'd explain your concerns and that you hear the complaints about the elevator and would like a first floor but didn't know if your type of room was available.

Wow... good to know! :)

If they don't have every type of room on every floor, I'd just leave earlier than when you'd planned. If you didn't have specific times in mind it won't matter. But if you were trying to get there for a Magic Morning or something I'd leave about 10 min early (yes, seriously).

I couldn't agree with this more! Their front office is great and can definitely help you find the best option for you. Have a great trip!
