Anaheim Bicycle Rental????

Has anyone ever rented a bicycle to get back and forth from your hotel to DLR?

That sounds like a monumentally bad idea to me! Not a bicycle friendly area in my mind. But I'm not your target audience probably. Can't wait to hear what people say. It does sound like a great idea at WDW though!

OK, if you do find a bicycle to rent, what to do with it?

As far as I know there are two main Bike Racks for guests at the DLR.

The closest is the current Transportation Hub (east side) outside of security next to the ART Ticketing Machine.

And just north of the ESPN Zone at DtD.

So you would need to both rent a bike, but also a good lock.

Is it doable, yes...

In fact, I use my bike to get to Knott's Berry Farm on occasion (I live here, and own my bike and a good lock).

But never have used it for Disneyland, even though it is about the same distance, partly due to the traffic in the DLR area.

Now, the OCTA Bus system have bike racks, but only two bikes can be loaded on a single bus, and the main bus route (43) seems to always have a full bike rack.

Going solo this trip and I am staying at the Sheraton. I would only have to cross Katella. I don't mind the walk. I stay fit. I doesn't bother me at all. The thought just popped into my mind as a time saver. Like you said I would need a good lock for the day but I could keep the bike in my room at night. Probably a silly idea to save 10 min. of walking each way. Still very interested in what others have to say on the subject.

The Sheraton is a really easy walk, in my opinion you'd be adding more complications (Having to cross Harbor to be on the correct side of the street to ride your bike then crossing back) vs walking straight down Harbor and straight in to the park. If your feet are tired at the end of the night you can always get on the Toy Story shuttle and walk back from there.
