I'm going back to Disneyland in April after a years wait, easter week and I booked the Mini Suite at the Anabella, any feedback on the hotel? It looked beautiful from the pictures, and right across the street from the parks. After the WDW trip in July we can't afford to stay at the DLR for a while so is this hotel any good? :confused3

It is a pretty hotel, however I didn't find it to be family friendly when I was there. It was a few years ago, so things may have changed, but I won't be staying there again. We booked 2 connecting rooms with 2 double beds in each. We ended up with rooms that were not connecting, no big deal. There was a double or queen bed in the main area and then in a tiny room there was twin bed. This didn't work very well when we were planning to have 2 people per bed. It also isolated one person. The hotel was full so there was nothing that they could or would do about it. I think they cater a lot more to the convention goers vs the vacationing families. They advertised complimentary breakfast, but it wasn't anything great. They were actually very snotty to us when we went to get it. They wouldn't let us eat in the dining room, we had to get our food and go back to our rooms, it was like they didn't want any kids there. They were rude when explaining what we could eat and said we could have one bread and one fruit and one juice and that was all--they way they treated us was the worst part. We spoke with another mother who was there with her children and she felt the same way. For the hotel's sake, I hope they've become more family friendly, but they did loose my business.

I've since stayed at the Fairfield and the HoJo, both of which were more family friendly and the rates were cheaper too. It was also a closer walk to the parks.

My family has decided to pick the ajoining rooms. We specified at least 5 times to the girl to make them 2 queens ajoining. She said if there where any problems to let her know. She gave us her name and so when we get there they are not together she has some explaining. The youngest person in our party is 15, do they treat teenagers so rude?

I loved the hotel. The only problem was the toliets they over clogged. And the room service was good but we could not get towels when we needed them for the toliets. We were waiting downstairs for 45 minutes to get towels the maid misunderstood and took them to our room. I would stay there again.
Also, you need an ART pass because even though it is accross from the park the main entrance is about a mile or so away. And it is a long long long walk. You will want it especially if you plan on staying till close or longer in DTD. I hope you have a good time.

Try looking at Tripadvisor.com for reviews. We have stayed there and one thing to remember that this is a glorified motel. They have take 2 or 3 old motels and updated them. The rooms and baths were clean and most of the furniture was updated. The walls still thin, where you can hear your neighbor snoring.

We have found 3 different types of rooms there. 1. Suite, which is a large room with King bed and Sofa, a dressing area and bathroom. Then a small room with a daybed, TV and a fridge. 2. King Bed room with a Queen bed in the alcove, dressing area and bathroom. 3. Queen/double room with bathroom. (They said it was a queen, but felt so small we could have sworn it was a double).

We have been treated well everytime we have stayed there and generally have found some good deals on their website.

I've stayed there a few times. Once in a mini suite and once in a 2 queen room (but as previous poster said, more like double than queen). We've always had a great experience there. I have a 10 yr old and never felt that we were in any way discriminated against. The free breakfast is only for certain room types, I believe it's offered with their new concierge king rooms. So we have never experienced it, but I have heard others say the same thing, that they were limited in what they could have and had to take it to their rooms.

My only complaint about this hotel is the distance. We never wanted to pay for ART, so we would walk. We tried 2 different routes and still can't figure out if one is quicker than the other. But it does take about 20 minutes to get to the gates. You can either walk down Katella towards the Convention Center, cross over at the pedestrian walkway, enter the Lion King parking lot, walk about halfway through it, where you can finally catch the tram. That is if the tram is running that day. Otherwise you keep walking up to the front gates. The other option is to cross Katella right at Disney Way, heading towards Downtown Disney, cut through the Grand Californian into Downtown Disney, then on over to the gates.

I would choose another hotel... The pictures are better than the reality and it is really quite a walk to the parks. Depending on your needs, I would suggest Park Place Inn if you want a suite. It is right across the street from the entrance to the parks, no transportation needed. We also had a nice stay at Candy Cane Inn with its own transportation and a continental breakfast, but no restaurant on the premises.

We had a great experience at the Annabella. We stayed 10 nights Nov 13-23 in a mini suite. Hubby, myself and 14 yr old daughter. Staff was courteous, maid service very clean, pool area lovely. We only had one meal there and it was ok, nothing to write home about. We had a car so we drove to the DL parking lot so I am not sure of the walking distance. I would stay again if I was looking for a deal. We called the reservation desk direct and paid $89.00 per night for the mini suite which had a queen bed plus sofa bed plus single daybed in a separate little room with a 2nd TV (my dd loved this).
