Anabella, Red Lion or Stovalls...

HELP! I've got to stay off the Disboards. (Like that will happen ;))

We usually like to stay at one of the close Harbour motels but we just decided a few weeks ago to take a June trip and the rates for those hotels are pretty high right now.

I saw someone on the Dis mention the Anabella and checked into it and found a rate I could live with. I'm not thrilled with the walk but oh well...we can suck it up.

THEN...I got an e-mail from Best Western for a decent rate at Stovalls. (same walk) It's about $32 less for the week than Anabella including parking.

THEN...there have been a few threads recently about the Red Lion so I looked into that. Well it's only about $22 more than Stovall making it less than Anabella's. All parking fees have been factored in.

So as you can see I've now got 3 reservations, all about the same price and distance. So I'm turning to the experts.

What would you do?

THANKS

We love love loved the Anabella at Christmas! Staff was great, the beds were super comfy and the granite floor in the bathroom feels really good after a day of walking about the parks. Even though it was a little walk I was forced to stroll through the GCH lobby every morning which (tounge in cheek here) was a great hardship LOL. Really it didn't feel long at all.. Disneyland Dr is a pleasant walk along paths manicured with flowers and shaded by trees and as a bonus it is not nearly as crowded as walking on Harbour. For me the minute I walked into the GCH I was really at DLR (although I have to walk through the left tunnel before I am tears in my eyes there) there is so much to see walking through the GCH and DTD that those parts of the walk barely register. Even our 6 year old never complained about the walk even on day 4. We did take the ART back to the hotel when he was worn out at Midnight and it drops at the restaurant right next door to the hotel.

Have never stayed at the other two so sorry cannot give you an opinion there.

Out of the 3 hotels you mentioned, I've only stayed at Stovall's.

Stovall's has newly remodeled rooms (with super comfy beds), free breakfast, lots of parking, microwaves & refrigerators in every room, and a nice pool area with 2 pools, 1 kiddie pool, and 2 hot tubs. It's about a 15 minute walk from room to Park turnstiles, and the ART bus picks up & drops off right in front of the hotel.

Hope that helps...any other questions, just ask...I've stayed there lots of times & am happy to help :thumbsup2

Interesting comparison since all three have been recently renovated and have nice and modern rooms.

I would say Stovalls for the free breakfast, it's a useful perk for saving time and money.

However I have had a lot of CMs recommend the Annabella Hotel. It gives me the feeling that they gave CM families deals. They all suggested that I stay there next time.

We really like Stovalls. The rooms are nice and the walk is one of the shortest off property, just past PP. I would not count on the free breakfast though...it was mostly stale pastry and fruit. It was fine for a quick bit and then an early lunch, but most days we buy breakfast (at Coco's in the parking lot.) For the price, Stovalls can't be beat.

I have never stayed at the Red Lion, but I have stayed at the Anabella and BW Stovalls. I always like staying at BW Stovalls since the rooms are very nice and updated. The continental breakfast is really nice and only a 10-15 minute walk to the DLR. It is also in a good spot if you are going to the Anaheim Convention Center. The Anabella is a very nice atmosphere hotel and the room is very nice, but the only thing I don't like about is that it does not give you free wifi.
