Anabella or BWPPI ???

Here's the deal. I booked a room at BWPPI for August because we wanted to try a different hotel, I really like the location, and I have read some pretty good reviews on the DIS boards. Then, I decided to look into Costco Travel to see if I could get a better deal, and the website suggested staying at the Anabella (BWPPI was full). It looks like a really nice place, but the walking distance seems pretty far, and it cost a little more. Is the Anabella worth the extra $ and walk, or am I better off staying with BWPPI? Thanks for any input!!!

I don’t know anything about the Anabella, but we happen to like the BWPPI a lot. We have always found it to be just what we want for the price. We really just want a clean place to sleep, shower and keep our things safe, and on that note the place works out great for us. While there are discussions on the board about the quality of the continental breakfast offered, nobody in my family has ever complained about being able to have donuts or pastries as part of breakfast. When you walk back to the BWPPI at the end of the day, you will be so grateful that you don’t have to walk even 1 step further. Your family will thank you and all will be good with the world. Just don’t hurt yourself patting yourself on the back for having made the right decision.

This post makes me feel really good about my decision to stay at BWPPI. I have mostly heard good things about BWPPI, but the few not so good things that I have heard leaves me wondering if I made the right choice. Thank you!
We want the same thing in a hotel that you do, so I'm sure we will be happy.

I have stayed at both and I liked both.
The Anabella is a nice spread out motel. It has all outside corridors in many different buildings. The grounds are nice, even lush in a couple places, as is the decor in the rooms but it is not that much nicer than the BWPPI. The only thing that the Best Western lacks is that it is one larger building on a small lot so there isn't much landscaping otherwise the room decor is fine and it is much closer and more convenient to restaurants of the area.

I have stayed in both and I really like the Anabella, but we have always been able to get it for significantly cheaper than the BWPPI, which is part of why we stay there because it is cheaper and nicer (we usually get it for $79 a night). So for us a little farther walk to save money and get something nicer is worth it. But if you have kids and will need to go back to the room, the BWPPI will be much more convienent for you and if you are getting a better deal moneywise, then definitely stick with the BWPPI because of the closeness to the park entrance.

If you did stay at the Anabella you can just cut through the Grand Californian and step out into Downtown Disney and then to the entrance. It is very easy, but yes, the BWPPI is closer.

I think I will stay with our orginal choice. I have seen enough good reviews about BWPPI to feel comfortable with it. I guess If we don't like it, we can always try something else the next time!
