I am planning a vacation with my ex-husband.

I obviously won't go into details about the end of my marriage (or any other part of it for that matter), but I will say that no good marriage ends in divorce.

We have been divorced for almost 2 years. Over a year ago, we all lived in a suburb of Memphis, when he moved 8 hours away to live with his then girlfriend, and shortly after the kids and I moved to a suburb of Chicago when I accepted a new position with my company.

Now, the kids see him on all school breaks and spend their entire summers with him. This is relevant when planning things like big vacations.

So since I was able to do a short vacation with them this summer, I had to talk to him and plan timing of getting them from him and then home before school starts. He also had tentative plans to take them this summer, so we decided a joint vacation would be easiest.

(We took a trip to Disney in June, 2013 with just the boys. Our daughter was 3 and we decided to wait to take her.)

We are going for 8 days and will be staying at All Star Sports (this has changed a couple of times as I am indecisive, then our dates for the trip changed) August 13-20.

Me-I LOVE planning things. This will only be my 3rd trip to DW, but I have read and absorbed so much information. That's just my personality. As you can imagine, I am the one making all the plans for the whole trip. I'm totally ok with that!

The Ex- This will be his 4th or 5th trip (3rd time with me). He says as long as we do the few things he wants, he doesn't care about the details.

Aaron- He's 10 (will be 11 on the trip). Already has a teen boy attitude (and appetite!). This will be his 2nd trip. He is most looking forward to Test Track.

Layne- He's 8 (will be 9 on the trip). Also his second trip (his last one he was only 4 and I'm surprised he remembers most things from the trip!). He's a super picky eater so all of my dining plans revolve around if there will be something that he will eat. He's looking forward to Star Wars anything.

Caroline- She's 7. A diva. She has never been to DW before- and hasn't let us forget it! We try to keep her happy at all times, because if she isn't, no one is. She wants to meet Ana and Elsa and any other princess that exists. Also, she's 50" tall so they're all tall enough to ride everything!

On our last trip, we ate breakfast in the room (off property), packed lunch and then did a QS meal in the park. We have DDP this time and I'm very excited about it. We are also spending two days at Universal Studios.

So with just over 5 months to go, let's see how many times I can change plans before then! LOL

The current plan is for me to fly to meet them the day before our trip. Then, we will all fly to Orlando together the following morning. The kids will then fly back to Chicago with me at the end of our trip
