An Orlando Vacation without Disney??

After this year my GF and I are definetly Disneyed out. If we go again this year we will only hit Animal Kingdom for Mt Everest and Disney's MVMCP.
The rest of the time will be at IOA/US. We had a blast last time we were there. Such a nice break from the overly sweetness of Disney.

Also we enjoyed Sea World especially since they had but one day get another day free special going on.
Plus with Sea World, how can you not love a place that gives free beer??????!!!!!! :drinking1

Also I really want to go back to Kennedy Space Center. It was so neat seeing actual space rockets.

We also want to see Gatorland, visit that upside down house Wonderworks, and go on an airboat ride!

I am not sure if we could go to Orlando and not go to Disney, but I think we could as long as we didn't stay for very long. My boys would love Universal and IOA but I think after that they would be wanting Disney. However, if someone just gave me money, I think I would be willing to give it a try.

There are theme park fans, and there are Disney fans. I'll stick with the mouse. :earsboy:

Well I've been thinking. For what it would costs to go to Disney for just one day (67.00 each!!!) we could actually just add another day onto our trip, splurge & try the new Nick Hotel for the night. It might be nice to just replax at the hotel, we seldomly relax on vacations. I can always go to DTD to do some pin trading, that might make me feel better. I know everyone is getting a little "Disney'd out" & I guess to a point I am too. Last year I even skipped CoP & I never do that! It's usually my favorite attraction!

Yep I skipped it this most recent trip as well. Really not any narrators that I wanted to fo see.

We took the grandkids to the Hard Rock Hotel and did US/IOA for 4 days. We did go to DTD and also ate at Boma. Had thought about going to MK or MGM the last day, but I hurt my foot and there was a tropical storm heading towards our house so we skipped it and headed home. The kids really didn't complain.

We are headed to Orlando next week for the National Home Builders Show. We are staying at POFQ and will probably go to DTD but that is it. DH said maybe we should go to SeaWorld but haven't decided yet.

We go to Orlando for 1 week every Feb (in-laws have a time share), but some years we just can't afford the parks (family of 5). One of my favorite things to do is explore the incredible Disney hotels - it's very entertaining. If you go to the Poly in the evening you can enjoy the lobby and gift shops, then head out to the beach for the FREE electric water pageant and see the fireworks over MK! DTD and the Boardwalk are both fun places to explore and get the Disney feel. As my boys get older, they prefer Universal parks, but we've agreed on one day at MGM this year.
