An opinion on Universal vacation video

The video is informative regarding the parks, but not as much when it comes to Citywalk and the resorts...I think the actors are corny and starchy. The hostess was the only tolerable one. I feel they should have interviewed, with some editing of course, real people on vacation in their parks, resorts and Citywalk. That would have been much more impressive. It would have been better if they would have interviewed the critics who write the tourist guides, because they frequent their parks and facilities...just my opinion...what did you guys think of the video or did I miss that thread?:D :)

The video is not bad. I don't think the guests are really any worse than the ones you see in the Disney planning video.

Is this the one with the tour guide, and then a group of people flock behind her?

We thought it was corny ourselves. ... Wished it showed more of the attractions

I'm a minority here. I thought it was much better than the video the year before. I send for all the free videos which, I think, is part of my Orlando theme park addiction.

I just watched it again.

I saw it as what it was, a infomercial. It had one purpose, to sell, not to inform or entertain. And it works, IMHO, since it was one of the reasons I booked again. And like Barry said, it's about as cheesy as the Disney one!

The "hostess" does introduce herself as a tour guide.

I ordered the video because I thought that when I go down to Florida to visit relatives this summer I might take the kids for a day to Universal or IOA. Well...the video certainly worked....and after viewing-- my kids and I just HAD to go....and now we're staying at the HRH and getting the 3 day passes.

I'm sure the advertising department will be glad to hear that! Yes....I did think that the video was a corny...and there was a "bit" of overacting...but I took it for what it was...and like I said...IT WORKED!!
