An open letter on the eve of our departure.

Dear Friends,

Tommorow, Friday, we leave for our LONG awaited Disney Cruise.

It will mark the culmination of over a year of planning.

It will also be a completely different cruise than it would have been if not for this board.

I found/joined this board on January 1, 2003. New Years Day. I have never been on an internet board before or since. While I joined to gain information, I have gained much more.

I immediately was impressed by the breadth of knowledge of the members, and by their willingness to share with others. As a direct result of your suggestions I saved over $600 by things such as transferring reservations, rebooking my travel insurance, finding Capt. Marvins, etc. That's what the CPA in me likes.

But I also gained in ways I never expected. I found many good people reside on this site. Some were laugh out loud funny (BD, where are you). Some liked a lot of shrimp (Hey Rae!)

But they all really seemed to care about one another. And soon, very soon they started to care about me. And I them.

I learned about a Little Guy named Nate, whose picture will be soaring with me on Castaway Cay as I Parasail.

I learned about a (Verandah) Man named Andy. Whose love of rock shrimp was only surpassed by his capacity for caring.

I learned about the tag fairy. Twice!

Sometimes there were spats. But what family doesn't have them.

Now, before I get anymore sappy, let me say good bye and a heartfelt thanks to every one of you.

I have some old friends I have to meet for the very first time....

Jim,
I hope you and your family have the most 'Magical' Christmas ever. I will be thinking of you and knowing it will be my family 1 year from now.
Remember to eat lots, have lots of fun and make lots of memories. There's lots to do on the ship.
One more thing, do you mind if I climb in your suitcase so I can come along for the ride?!? It won't take me long to get there from here

p.s. If you decide to rebook while on board please consider the 10 day you would be so much fun to have onboard.
