Hey guys!
Well, we have been at SSR for about six hours so far. The trip got off on an odd start. Our DS (Enzo 3.5yrs) cried the whole flight, latched onto me like a leach the entire time. He would not allow DH to take him. For a kid who is never fussy, he seemed to have saved it all up for this one flight. Then he cried all the way down to the Magical Express - SSR checkin - bell station - to the room, until he fell asleep. DH went to get children's Advil and soup for him, finally his fever seems to be dropping and he's sleeping sound (snoring and all) on the sofa with us. Hopefully he will be better by morning, I am pretty worried about the little guy. Does anyone have suggestions for a dr if we need it? CS suggested a clinic near by that has a shuttle... has anyone been to this place? Not sure of the name.

Anyway.... other then that we have an excellent view from the Paddocks. We have not been back here since they started the balloon thing over at DTD and our view of that is awesome!

More to come...

sorry to hear your little one is sick, I hope he feels better soon! As for the clinic with the shuttle, we have been there and they were wonderful.

In Jan. 2008 DD(age 11 1/2 at the time) complained of a sore throat when we arrived at Disney(Pop) but, had no other symptoms. Fast forward to 6:30am the next morning and she had a temp of around 103 and her throat was killing her. I called the front desk at about 8am(motrin wasn't really helping DD) and they recommended the clinic and told me about the shuttle, they made all the arrangements and we went down about 10 minutes before the time they told us the shuttle would pick us up. The shuttle driver was excellent, he picked us up and another mom and her DD. the clinic wait was about an hour but, the staff was great. DD had strep and a double ear infection(never complained about her ears except on the plane she cried and she is usually an excellent flier). The doc gave her a prescription for antibiotics and the pharmacy that is attached to the clinic filled the prescription. The clinic called the shuttle, they came and picked us up and took us back to our resort. I would definately recommend them!

Wow! That's amazing... sounds like you guys got really good service!
Strep and a double ear infection... poor thing! Hopefully she got to feeling better quick enough to enjoy some of the trip.

Thanks for the reply , now I know I can trust this clinic.

Enzo woke up about 30min ago and signed "eat" for us, then ate soup, crackers and drank a whole Caprisun. *crossing fingers* Thank goodness for the Disney channel and Phin/Ferb... it's keeping him happy at the moment, even got a few smiles out of him.

Monday started off a little better! Enzo woke up energized and ready to explore his new "home"! He was in love with the tv's being low enough where he could change the channels on his own. He also learned to climb onto the chair to get to the bar, then up to the portible fan (that's our little monkey!). We felt like he was doing so well we could try going to Magic Kingdom. He didn't care for the bus ride too much, only because he wasn't in his car seat. That got better at the end of the day!

Our first stop at MK was Cosmic Rays for lunch. Enzo loved Sunny... was dancing to some of the songs!

Then we were off to Tune Town. DH wanted to start big with Barn Stormer, of course I just knew Enzo would freak out and it would be a disaster. Thank God I was wrong!! E loved it!

After a bit of walking around on his walker, we decided to try the Judges Tent to see Mickey. This had to have been the most magical moment in my entire life. E can hear and understand what we say to him, but does not say many words back. He uses mostly sign language to communicate with us. We were next in line to see Minnie and Mickey and were waiting patiently while the other family took their pictures. All the sudden Mickey noticed Enzo using sign language and broke away from that family to "visit" with Enzo using sign language!! When that family left, both Minnie and Mickey were visiting with him and us with their hands. They could not get enough of our little Enzo and he loved it! There I had been soo worried he would be afraid of them and cry like I always did... but in reality he made two new friends. After we left I cried for a good 15min, it was a very special moment. Pics did not come out as well as I wanted, but the memories will always be there.

Then it was time to suck it up and move onto Fantasy Land were we enjoyed the Pooh, Peter Pan and Phylarmagic.

Enzo was getting a bit tired by mid day, but we thought we would try the Haunted Mansion before going back to the hotel for a nap. He did okay, but got scared in the grave yard. Will probably skip seconds on this one. Plus... due to our GAC/ Stroller as Wheelchair we entered through the exit, so we missed the stretching room and spooky CMs on the way in.

Due to E getting scared, we asked him if he wanted his favorite treat, ice cream. Of course he said yes... so he had his first dipped Mickey on a stick.

We took the train around to the front and headed back to the resort for a nap. Here are a few random characters we saw...

After nap, we headed down to the pool for some relaxation. Enzo went down the baby slide several times... loved it! Never did sign "more" but we could tell he was ready to go again each time. Then we watched the movie "Robin Hood" by the pool.

It was a wonderful day full of first for Enzo and we enjoyed every min of it!

He seemed to feel better most of the day until 2am, when he woke up with a high fever and drank 3 big glasses of juice and water. We got up this morning and took the shuttle over to Centra Care. The wait wasn't too bad, and we left with meds in hand ready to get him on the mend. He's had a nap and we are heading out to catch the first bus that comes along to the parks.
