I don't usually read the obits in the morning but there wasn't in the morning but there was that much news and this one caught my eye. I will omit the name;
O.R, 34, of Bloomfield, departed this life on Monday. He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, E.R and P.W. 12 children, Kevon, Rushane, Christina, Javor, D'Ondre, Latisha,Jaquawn, O'Neil, Jaunyeah, Antonio, Imani, and Orarion. Sisters and brothers are then named. He also leaves to mourn several loved ones, the mothers of his 12 children, his nieces, nephews, etc. ]
Well, you get the picture.

34 and 12 kids...did it say how he died...
I hope he had alot of life insurance!!

Poor thing. Sounds like he wore himself out! ;)

TC

yeartolate - yes, he probably did, literally, peter out. ;)

There was an interesting obit in my alumni weekly this week - this guy, class of 1949, former navy pilot - had six kids - divorced his wife Pamela in 1998 (they remained friends) and spent his last seven years with his close personal companion John. Interesting, hmm?

wow!! I found his obit ( yeah..I have way too much time on my hands!)..he was a year younger than I am!

Dana,

Maybe he was like many older men and enjoyed his time in the restroom. ;)

My guess is that they all have insurance. It's called Medicaid.

I have a friend whos parents were married for over 30 years...they divorced ( his dad's story was that she was a drunk and couldn't take it anymore )..well, when "Harry" died we cleaned out his house and found out that he had a boyfriend and he had died a few years before.."Harry" had taken out an obit in the local gay magazine.
I always thought it was sad that he never told his son about this whole other life he had, but my friend said he wished he never knew...very sad.

I should also add that this man "migrated" to this country from Kingston, Jamaica in 1995. Which also raises the issue of immigrants an how they are able to make a living in this country and the potential costs to taxpayers.

Ahhh, now we get to the real point of you posting an obit you just happened to have read. :sad2: :sad2:

Bingo, Bob. Quoting the children's names was also a dead giveaway - I don't have much time for this kind of narrow mindedness.

If you have the whole obit, please post it. Because right now you it looks like you are insinuating that since he was an immigrant he had to be living off the government. And that is a big and somewhat racist assumption.

This obit could have come from a "certain section" of my hometown, and I assure you the man would not have been an immigrant.

The guy is dead. Let it go.

I'm about as anti "idiots having 12 kids they can't afford and picking my pocket to pay for them" as the next right leaning independent but good lord, the man is dead, his children no longer have a father and I don't care where they came from. :confused3 I feel sorry for the children.
