Thanks, Dahling!

I likey your hundred days from now!

And the quilt is spectacular!

It's been fun to look forward this way.

Believe it or not, that quilt is on it's way to it's new owner :goodvibes What a long, long journey it must make!

I'm here again 2 days in a trow ... do I get a PRIZE!!!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hmmm.... maybe... did you get your hat yet??

100 days from now, WOW!!! so exciting.

I know, and our arrival is even less than that now! :woohoo:

HA! No, no name. Just a random one out of the thousands roaming around out in the desert.

they sound awfully refreshing to me! Mmmmm!

100 Days from now...

Our happy little trio will be moving our base camp over to the POR, where our real Belle-ness can shine through. After that, we'll be spending the morning yaking it up with the animals and facing the Yeti.

From there we'll hoof it on over to the ol' Fort for some Hoop de Action. I've seen this before and LOVED it, until it was over and I had me some Hoop de Action of an altogether different kind. :rolleyes1 I can't remember if maroo has partaken of this most ridiculous spectacle or not, but I know LeeAnn has not. I warned her that if she's not feeling peurile enough during the show, there's always more sangria to be had. ;) (How'd you like that use of my new word, Glenn?)

Mom's really getting into the action on this one! I love it, although she'd die if she knew this was on here!

Good old-fashioned silly fun!

Feeling pretty happy, we'll make our way back to have antebellum dreams-

100 Days from now.

Wow, the quilt is spectacular! I really love craftwork from different cultures. I think that this is one of the really interesting aspects of foreign countries - how crafts are used in a way to make life more beautiful. I guess quilts are for me the typical American form of craftwork. :goodvibes And yours is really beautiful, there must be so much work you put into it!

The visa situation is such a annoying story! I will pray for there being a solution that you won't have to miss Andrew's graduation!!

I am impressed with the boxes in your house, I guess that is part of your packing/clearing stuff out process? I hope you will be able to get through these stressful times without further complications.

Thanks for your lovely PM, will send an answer soon! :goodvibes

I think quilting is very much a traditional American craft, and the Amish, I think, are most known for it. However, there are SO many different styles ranging from batiks to watercolors (quilts with a picture of some sort), to Hawiian "pineapple" style. I think this particular quilt took me about 300 hours or so to complete (1 year of work).

It's very touch-and-go, and we should know a little more today. :confused3 Thanks for thinking about it for us.

My house is basically trashed. There are boxes everywhere, and I think for the next 2 months, we'll be eating off of plastic dishes. Ah well.... I sold my piano for $80 today, which is $10 more than I thought I'd get. Did you hear me???? Pianos sell for $80 here!!!! :scared1:

You're very welcome. :goodvibes

Marc went to Hoop De Doo as a child and he said it awesome. I have no desire to go to it yet. I don't know, the food does nothing for me. :rotfl2:

Ahhh, POR. :cloud9: We'll officially be neighbors!

Definitely a hilarious, outrageously silly show, and we'll I'm particularly partial to the strawberry shortcake. :cloud9: (And I can say that I don't dislike the bottomless sangria either. eh-hmm...)

Yup! We're requesting the Magnolia Mansions. How 'bout you?

You know, when I called to add the two days I asked them to put a Mansion room request on my reservation. When I got the email confirmation with the two extra days there was no mention of it so I have to call them again.

Are you requesting a specific Mansion building? I'm debating if I should request a specific building or just any Mansion room.

We requested Magnolia Terrace Bldg. A corner room. ;)

I'm going to call again next week as well, just to make sure!

I think that is the building I want to be in too. I'm going to be really really upset if I don't get a Mansion room. I wish I could just pay to make sure I get one. Sigh.

I once went to a quilt exhibition which was absoutely beautiful - I have no idea where it was, but it was about what the different designs mean and such. I think it was quilts which were on loan from the Smithsonian (is that possible??) - which btw sounds like the most interesting museum to me!

:scared1::scared1::scared1: for boxes everywhere, plastic dishes and piano prices! I guess there isn't a strong demand for pianos? :confused3

ME TOO! I don't know how far back you read in our PTR, but this trip is ALL about pampering and being sorta (as much as we can be :lmao:) classy. No kids, adult women who've had tough years, etc.. we want to be in nice surroundings. I'm sure the alligator bayou ones are nice, but don't have that "nicer" feel to them- at least to me. :confused3

I LOVE quilt shows! What some of these quilters- both men AND women can do simply astounds me! Well...you COULD fly over to DC and do our Meet with us! :rolleyes1 We might pop into the FREE Smith just for you...:goodvibes

More people just left. I haven't had 5 minutes to myself all day. :headache: But, slowly this stuff IS disappearing!

Graduation starts at 5:00 on the 10th- it is 2 days drive there. Could you pray that we get our visas AND passports before this, so we don't have to worry and stress about missing our firstborn's highschool graduation??

First of all, sending big prayers your way. Secondly - I meant to ask last time - are you staying in a Yurt on your vacation? You posted that pic of your view so I wondered!

Hope you're having a memorable Memorial Day!

Mickey was wanting to visit you again, so I took a few shots of some of his more interesting sections to share with you. In fact, these are probably the very most important parts in him. These 2 sections are the very heart of Mickey, and will see all kinds of action on the field.

Let me show you what I mean. Here is the cover of the Trip Journal Section, and then you can guess what follows:

Yeah, and if you think that's the coolest thing EVER, check out this! (Did you guess what was next?)

I know what you're thinking. BLANK PAGES?! :scared1: No, really, that is what is so cool! 13 Blank pages- one for each day of my trip. 13 glorious blank pages to fill with stories, adventures, all kinds of stuff I've gotten to do and see!

Then, look what's next! A whole section to record all the noshy, yumminess that comes my way. Here's the cover:

Think I"ve gone overboard? Here are the jounal pages for this section:

And with that, my laptop is out of juice, and I have to post this, or lose it.

Thanks, Rebecca! We'll need all of them!

No, no yurts this time... I'll find a link to the resort we're staying at and post it. It looks nice, but typically they are only half so-so.

I didn't even know it was Memorial Day today, until I saw a couple of posts on here. :lmao:

Hey, nice way to work in "peurile" and your worked in "antebellum" for good measure!

We love quilt shows. There used to be an annual one in Lancaster and we used to go. The quilts are like works of art.

Oh, so now I see your journal for trip notes...nice! Sorry to rush you on this.

Hey Glenn,

Glad the Meet plans are to your approval. ;) Hopefully, we'll get a good turnout!

Yes, Bek just finished up the Civil War era and antebellum was on my cerebellum. :lmao:

Sisters, Oregon has a phenomenal one too- can't wait to go!

Yes, a whole bunch of blank pages; as for being rushed... HA! HELLO! Thats my LIFE right now. Rushed and stressed out. I knew it was coming, but somehow knowing it's coming doesn't make it easier!

Anyway, my plan is to finish out the 100 days countdown AND the Mickey Journal and wrap up this Part II of the PTR before my trip to Kyrgyzstan. Then I can start afresh just after I get back. That should leave you guys some pages to play with while I'm gone. It'd be fun to come back to a FULL 250 or more pages of this thread!
