An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Do they need the (what am I now?) the Lieutenant to step in? :upsidedow

I think they do! We are so tired of living here. It gets depressing. We have to say goodbye to our friends all of the time but we are never the ones leaving!

Sounds like us!!!! :lmao: Except this time it IS us. After 9 years, we get to finally be the ones who throw in the towel. When the time is right, He'll move you on right to where He wants you. ;)

We are pretty much sure that we are gonna stay here until retirement. He only has 7 more until he hits his full 20! The plan is to take a job he has been offered down in Orlando! I wanna work at WDW! Or at least get to play there everyday!

Was yours a Gunny Sack?? I love it!! So frilly- makes me want to wear it to the GF Tea!

No, it was a no name dress. I worked with my date at my part time job, and a large group of us from there all went together as friends and had a ball.

Three Weeks!! Three Weeks!! :goodvibes  :woohoo:

 Oh carp.....Three weeks!! Three weeks!!

The panic mode.....OOOOooofficially begins! :scared: :faint:

I leave in 18 days, have five custom outfits to make for Jordan, work 40 hours a week outside the home, have Girl Scout registration and last meeting of the year with a field trip to handle, have a school field trip and the big May Fair for PTO, am helping with preparations for the Big Irish Dance show at the end of May, plus soccer games and Mother's Day thrown in AND . . .

I AM GOING TO THE DARK SIDE WHICH I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT AND NEED TO RESEARCH!!!!

Panic is an understatement - LOL!!!! :scared1::scared1::eek::scared:

The most important things to me now are my pictures. I have them backed up 3 different ways but all three are in this house. (besides photobucket.. but that is like 2% of our pics) I really need to buy another hard drive and copy all pics and other important documents on there and store it at my parents house.. or somewhere else. If we ever lost our house, we would lose a lot of memories.

Me too! I have my photos on my laptop and on an external hard drive. I have some burned to cd as back-up but need to finish doing that. Plus, I order my prints online so they are stored on that company's website (I don't know for how long though) and I still worry about losing them!

:I totally skipped my Prom pirate: - so no pics of me! :cool2:

Me too!

That's nice about the AF! 20 years really isnt' that long. :thumbsup2

That's my dream too! I'd love to have that as a retiremtent job!

Well, name brand or not, I LOVE it! Group things were a ton of fun! Rocky Horror Picture show was our favorite. ;)

And you have a lot to do too! Yikes!

I really need to ask DH to back up!

Did I tell you, that I found ONE BUYER for ALL my books?? A family in a city twice as close to The Big City wants them and the people who are living in their house while they are on furlough wil even be up here this weekend for something. They can even help me get them on a bus for transport!!!! I am thrilled!!! I think our library will fetch around $500!! Not including the homeschool curriculum I have.

:woohoo: That's a nice chunk o change! It'll be fun to build up a new library when you get home. I'll contribute!

"It's ok, Auntie Nay-Nay. My mom has a big bum too."

:rotfl2: Sounds like something my Lucy would say. At church Sunday my aunt came up to give her a hug and she said, "Aunt Lynnie, you have lots of gray in your hair!"

Which is why you should never saute topless.

That is such good advice - for everyone ;)

Awesome! He looks just like the both of you Liesa!

Well I've missed a lot of funny stuff in the past few days that I've been off contemplating my future career. Liesa, are you really only 5 foot? You look so much taller in photos!

Oh - Tate needs to put on her sultry lipstick lips if she wants to snag a date!

Busy weekend here!

I did look at the store at the coloring kits they have, but they were all a shocking auburn or electric red; I"m not going there. Just a nice amber or honey colored red is what I'm after.

I wonder if this is because most of the women near you have darker hair and the lighter kits would do nothing for them?

An Ode to Indoor Plumbing or Sewers and You

Thank you indoor plumbing! :worship:

Great prom pics! I love all the big 80s dresses. I don't believe I have any around either...my mom is prone to natural disasters and has had a house destroyed by both fire and flood, and narrowly missed a tornado! :scared1: But I do love seeing everyone elses!

It will be fun! but I"m sad to say goodbye to so many nice ones we have. We'll probably get a lot of them from the Goodwill or garage sales. You are very kind- I may take you up on it :)

:lmao: A nice teaching moment.

He is quite a combo. He got his nice long eyelashes from his dad, though. :thumbsup2 The girls definitely look more like me.

I really am. My nickname in grade school was shrimp. :sad2: Wait til you see me next to LeeAnn. She is like 5'7". That'll be pretty funny!

That's what she was missing!! Hmmm... Do I have lips with sauce?

I never thought of that being the reason all the colors around here are so alarmingly bright. Good thinking!

I love my flowing pipes. I'll say it again... I LOVE my free-flowing pipes! :yay:

WOW! A fire AND a flood! That's horrible!! I hope everyone was just OK!

We've arrived, my friends, at the very last day of our plans. Please, try not to cry too loudly. They may check you into the nearest insane assylum- or ship you over here. That would be bad. No, that'd be good! Bad for you, good for me.

The night before we'll have once again acted like we are 16, staying up half the night gorging on Dole Whips, Corn Dog Nuggets, riding HM over and over, and over, and finally getting to bed after the MK EMH. I think I may like PM EMH at MK more even than strolling around World Showcase. :confused3

So, what are 2 thoroughly Disney-infused girls to do on the day they must say good-bye?

They:

Sleep in! Of course!

Then, they might (no, they WILL) pack up and check their stuff into Luggage Services.

Then, we maybe take one last swim and pack those wet suits into Ziplock baggies into our carry-ons.

After that, we'll most likely board a Friendship for a cruise on the Sassgoula River up to DTD for some last minute shopping.

Does lunch at WGPE sound nice? Good. That's where our last supper is planned.

We'll have to be back by 3:00 to check into ME. We'll complain and be sad that it is all over, and get on our flight at 6:00 to P-Town.

And that is all. That's the plan.

Before we begin new and exciting things, I'll post the ENTIRE SCEDULE in it's entirety for you. Beginning to End. I really appreciated Jordan's itinerary being all posted in its final form near the end, so you'll get it at least once more as well, just before I take off.

Oh yeah, we might have to grab a dark choco. covered Rice Krispy Bar from Goofy's today too. ;)

I'm thinking Tate might do better if his/her skirt was a little less sheer.

Just sayin'.......

I"m sure I have a prom pic somewhere but alas, it is buried alive in the garage and not scanned.

Darn.

Just picture a lovely lavendar chiffon, one shoulder asymmetrical hemmed job with light ruffled tiering, a white hat and gloves. Date in White Dinner jacket, black pants style tux. Lovely white roses...or orchids maybe.

I could STILL kick myself for not buying the dress I wore for the "spring fashion show" that I modeled. It was a bazillion times better and would actually still be fashionable. That's what I get for not wanting to wear something "people had already seen".

Hmmmm... so sheer's not in for prom?? The stuff I'm seeing these days even go one step further... there's not much there in the way of ANY fabric. :confused3 But you are right. She wants a nice, mannered young man, so she should put some more clothes on. Maybe an alluring black to match her lovely locks.

Your dress sounded LOVELY! I'll bet you looked amazing in lavendar. I hate those regrettable moments where you shoulda done something else. Ah well... :headache:

You'll appreciate this. I have in my posession a 1st edition 10 volume set of novels written by Edgar Allan Poe written in 1902! I had been collecting them since I was younger and DH found the last one I had been looking for a few years ago. It is my pride and joy!

well of course the dress that got away was also lavender (which yes, is a good color for me lol) but it was a much better dress. Halter top, deep vee with a slight ruffle on both sites, backless and then a simple straight to the floor skirt. Front slit so you could walk, but not indecent. Classic style in lavender satin taffeta with a white pinstripe. It was so pretty!

I think I got hung up on the taffeta but it would have stood the test of time FAR better than that hat! The dress wasn't bad though. All things considered (fashion of the times)

:rotfl:

Oh Kendall got a dress for the wedding, it is SOOO pretty! And not sheer. Just perfect. And...her mom took her shopping for it.

Half full I say. Half full.

:scared1::scared1::scared1: WOWZERS! I like some of Poe's stuff. Not all, but some. My daughter especially likes the Raven. She says, "It's so wonderfully written!". That's my girl. ;):thumbsup2

To have original ANYTHING is so cool!

OMG I thought for a minute you were going to say Choco Taco..............

I thought better of it. I wouldn't want to start mass hysteria or anything. :lmao:

This is starting to sound like a Jane Austen novel. :rotfl2:

Taffeta is my kind of deal. Love it! So crisp and swooshie!

Are you going to post a pic of her dress on your thread?? I want to see it! So at least her mom has some taste in fashion, if not in manners. :confused3;)
