Hello everyone,

Just thought I'd introduce myself before I start asking millions of questions. I'm new to this board (have lurked for a few days reading through as many threads as I can), but have used the DLRP board last year for our first trip to DLRP and found it brilliant for planning out trip.

So now I'm starting to plan a trip to WDW Florida in 2010 and think I'll be hanging around here a fair bit! :rolleyes1 I've been before but that was back in 1994 before DP and DD (6) and DS (5) came along. I know it's changed a huge amount since then so I am going to need help and advice along the way :flower3:

Anyway, enough of the ramble, now for my first question :-

Weather wise, which would be best, end of October or middle of February? We're avoiding the summer months because DP doesn't like it too hot but we want it to be warm and sunny - warm enough to make use of the outdoor pools etc..

Welcome to these boards!! You will find a wealth of information here!

Having been to WDW in both October and February in previous years, I can highly recommend both as being great times to visit. Humidity is much lower than July / August. Our last trip was in July, and whilst it was great to be there, the heat got to us and we are SO looking forward to our trip this October when the weather will suit us better.

We have been swimming outdoors in both October and February with no problems.

Happy planning!

the weather is probably the same, but october is more fun since it has halloween activities...so i'd opt for october...

actually, october is probably a bit warmer than february, so a safer bet for swimming....

Weather wise I would easily choose October. Ideal temperatures, nice and hot but not stifling as it can be in the summer months.

Can be unpredicatable in February and you could be unlucky and have weather on the cool side, especially in the morning's.

Weather wise I would choose October and like was said earlier...I love the chance of going to the halloween party.
We went in February a few years ago and were very cold at times!

Thanks guys, I was leaning more for October so you have made up my mind for me :cool1:

Now I've got to decide which exact 2 weeks to go. As we've got 2 school age children we will want to use the half term as one week, but would it be better to go the week before half term, or go at begining of half term and use the week after? :confused3 I wonder what difference it will make to the prices? Anyone looked into this ?

I have been twice in October and loved it. Try and go week before half term rather than after, as Disney normally close one of the water parks for refurb during the week after half term. :) Both times we were there in Oct it was still very hot. I would have chosen to go again in October this year but my DD is now in her last year at school.

Welcome,

I feel odd, doing a welcome as I feel like a newbie as well, but I have been planning for our first trip this October and it has been very very helpful.

Thanks Johnny :thumbsup2
Interesting that the prices are cheaper for over the half term time than earlier in the month :confused3
I'll just have to wait and see which exact week the half term is in our area in 2010 and then check out the prices for the varying weeks.

Thanks for the welcome everyone :flower3:
