an HOUR wait to see a character!?!?!

I was at several parks last week. Toontown had very long lines as did Ariel's grotto. On Saturday we didn't see long lines at Epcot, in fact, we saw Chip and Dale and there was only 1 person in front of us. We saw Snow White and Dopey and were 1st in line. Yesterday we went to MGM. The lines were long by the sorc. hat for characters. But I don't think they would have been longer than 20 minutes.

Another vote for forging the signature! :smooth:

Me too, especially at the ages you have listed in your signature...they wouldn't know the difference and you would be assured that you have the post card in time.

I'm not saying someone can't forge a character autograph or sign, but if you don't know the real signature then it kind of takes away from the magic. What if a kid got something signed and he goes and looks at his autograph book and it is different. I realize that characters do not all sign autographs the same but for the most part they look similar. I guess if someone was going to forge it I would hope they would practice and sign it right.

my son WOULD notice it tho. And he would question it, and focus on it.

But a VERY kind DIS'ser is going this weekend and has offered to get a post card signed for me and will mail it from the world ! :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

So basically, the consensus is that if it was for the princesses, then yes its a long wait, but other characters (ie chip and dale, goofy, baloo, captain hook, mr smee, alice, peter, etc etc etc etc ) would not have been a long wait.

I am disappointed, but she probably just forgot about it until she was leaving to go home. It happens!

We no longer head to ToonTown for photos...it's just too long a wait. We do wait for Ariel in her Grotto every other year or so though. That is about a 45 minute wait everytime. But, the lines at the Character Connection are non-existent!!! I'm not sure why..perhaps people haven't caught on to it yet. But it is a quick and easy way to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip/Dale, sometimes Pluto.
That's the other reason we do character meals. The waits for the characters in the parks, at separate lines can be brutal. And it always happens to us...we wait for 25 minutes, the handler comes along and says 'so and so' needs to take a break but will be back in a minute..more like 15 minutes.

We have paid if forward several times. Have to say...I'm getting pretty good at some of the signatures!!!

We were there on Monday, Oct. 30th. We walked on every ride. We did wait 25 minutes to see Snow White, Aurora, Bella, and Cinderella, but let me tell you it was worth it!! It's not just hurry snap your picture, the princesses talked with the children, etc. We waited about 10 minutes or so to see other characters.

That is kind of a Dis-er to do that for you. If that doesn't work out, you could always take your son's autograph book and copy the signature. We have signatures from several different Mickey Mouses and several different Chip and Dales that are similar, but different. Ya figure if dozens of CMs can learn the signature, it wouldn't take much work to copy it.

Heck, I sign for my husband all the time, and the waitress/supermarket clerk doesn't notice. KUDO's to your 5-year-old for his Disney expertise...my 10 year old wouldn't even look twice.

I wouldn't be too hard on your friend, either.

When I am busy enjoying my family at WDW (or any other vacation), it's hard to focus on stuff like that. I will admit to buying souveniers at airports in my home town for my own kids because I got so busy and was having so much fun on vacation that I didn't stop to shop at the destination.

20 minutes in an unnecessary line at Disney could seem like an eternity when there is so much you want to see and enjoy for yourself.

I hope it all works out for you.

we waited 35 minutes for Princesses in May...no longer for anyone else. that was our 3rd longest line...Soarin was 60 minutes, EE was 45 and then the Princesses. Everything else was 30 minutes or less
