Could this be true?

My friend came back home yesterday after a week at the parks, she was going to get a post card for my kids signed by mickey or another character, saying 'see you soon D...and E....'

She said she got them a post card but couldn't get them signed because the waits at characters were always a minimum of an hour!

She said she went on EE and SplM and SM over and over again with no waits, that the only waits the whole week were for the characters?

If they are that long doesnt' that mean that you basically wouldn't get to see the character as they need to have their 'breaks' ?

Thanks for any feedback!

Kerry / who is scared about the long waits for a characters on upcoming trip, as altho kids wanna see characters, Kerry wants to ride!/

We were there in late June/ early July (BUSY time) and never waited more than 20 minutes or so for characters..

As far as I know, the only place that ever gets hour long waits is Toontown, and that's most often for the princesses.

She's full of it.

We got back from the parks today, so I was there the same days she was. We waited 5 minutes to see the characters. The only long wait I saw was for Ariel, 20-40 minutes depending on the time of day. We even saw Mickey in Toontown in 5 minutes.

The Epcot Character Connection was empty. That's a great place to meet characters. Camp Minnie Mickey in AK is also great, but much better if you don't go right when the Lion King lets out. We went right after the show and waited about 5-7 minutes. It's probably empty while the show is going on.

I've noticed the princesses usually have longer lines than non-princesses. Even still, there was no hour long wait for characters this past week.

sigh. i was really hoping for the post card, it was how we were going to tell the kids that we are going to disney.

i was hoping she was wrong for our upcoming trip, but i am sad to hear that she was wrong since she promised me this favor. :O(

During our trip at the end of September the only line that was an hour long was the Princess line. And the CM said it was AT LEAST an hour. We didn't wait. All we needed was Cinderella and we just waited and seen her at 1900 Park fare.

no problem, we did this when we went last year. it was so much fun hearing about how excited the kids were.

In your friend's defense. We have always gone at slow times, but we still found lines at Toontown to be LONG and not worth the wait. We did find a few wait-free 'chance' encounters with characters in other parks, but they were more serendipity than planning.

Hey...I have an idea...but I wonder if it is an invitation to flames.

I was afraid to say it...but now I am SO curious about responses I am going to go for it.

Why not sign it yourself?...You know...forge Mickey's signature. It wouldn't be hard, and it would serve the same purpose.

Exactly what I would do!!!

Trust me, the only places I have EVER seen an hour wait is in Toontown for the princesses. Camp Minnie-Mickey and the other places are for the most part very time-reasonable.

the lines at animal kingdom camp i have heard have been long. This is because they area ll in their christmas costuems now. Goofy has been known to have a long line. but i doubt it to be an hour. the only hour long line i've hear of was for the princes room.

Another one for defending your friend,

Last year when we went to MGM there was a wait to see Piglet. He/She would be out 15 minutes,go in for 15 minutes and so on. So technically the wait to see the character might have been 30 minutes by the time the breaks are worked in it is 1 hour. Yes, they have other characters take a characters place when one is on break but if a specific character is wanted you have to wait until the rotation and your place in line coincide. I personally would have gone to Toontown when the area opened up. I don't think I have ever waited more than 10 minutes to see the mouse.

I was with Goofy just a few days ago, and the line never got over 20-30 minutes wait. And he was slow at times, because he kept posing people with his sleigh and playing with kids.

I just returned. I didn't see many characters at the parks. There did seem to be a line for Pooh and friends at MK, but at other places, there were less than 5 minute waits for stitch (in Tomorrowland), Tigger and Eeyore at AK, and the character connection at EPCOT had Minnie, Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale, and Alice with no lines whatsoever on Friday.

I can believe it. There was one year i waited in line 30 minutes to see Mickey in Toontown and that was during the "slow" season. Never again! We go to character meals instead.

We didn't wait too long on any of the character lines at the parks from 10/26-10/31. We did hit the jackpot though at MK during EMH! DS4 got autographs from Chip & Dale (we just missed them in the a.m.), Pluto, Goofy and of course Mickey & Minnie together! At the other parks, the wait times weren't that bad either and moved pretty fast.

Although, we didn't do toon town until MNSSHP. DH and I agreed, if DS went in during the day, we would never get him out of there :rotfl:

During our last trip, it was about a 45 min wait for Mickey in Toontown while Character Connection in Epcot was dead.

HI ~

We went the first week of October. Rarely waited for any ride longer than 10 minutes, it was great! However the character lines were our longest.

I had to get four Princess autographs for my niece...I had four books in a boxed set and the Princess's signed the inside cover of each.

Anyway, I got Snow White, Cinderella, and Belle all together waiting in one line in Toontown. The line took about an hour.

Ariel was at least a 45 minute wait also.

Those were the only ones that took that long though.
