We are going to be in WDW during the Passholder preview of EE. My husband and I both have annual passes that expired a few months ago. When you go for a preview like that, do they look closely at the expiration date on the AP? Could we "sneak" in for a preview on an old AP?

I have a feeling that you're going to get it.

People have said that the CMs look closely. On the Disney website, they do say "current pass". I haven't been to one of these events (yet), but it does sound like they check.

i also do not believe you will get in. For something like this I am sure the cast members will be looking very closely at every detail on the passes. Sorry for the bad news!

I was down there when Mission:Space had it's AP preview. They
looked pretty closely (not like checking my ID or anything), but I
wouldn't try it.

Going and trying to get in when you know your pass has expired....well you couldnt use it to get into the park now...could you.....so why embarass yourself more than you have here to have them scoff at you.....stealing is a crime....and thats what you are trying to do....either wait for it to open, or buy a new current ap

Well I have been to one for Mission Space when it opened and they looked at them closely. Wendy's Mom said you shouldn't embarrass yourself anymore? I don't see where you embarrassed yourself here, but that's my opinion. She states that it's like stealing, but to me, you come off as just an excited Disney person excited to get on a new ride. I think some people on here, AKA flame throwers are a bit judgmental and overreact to things that really aren't that big of a deal, in the realm of things in the real world outside of Disney. I wouldn't risk it, they do check, and to those throwing flames? Calm down and concentrate on real issues that actually deserve flames! Have a great trip!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Since this ride is highly anticipated, and people will be trying to sneak on as soon as they can, the CM's will more than likely be closely inspecting the tickets.

Ask a CM down there and explain the situation. It depends on the person, but they might let you on anyway.

I think the fact that the OP stated right in the thread topic, "PLEASE DON'T FLAME ME!" only set them up more! I mean its like cutting off your arm and jumping into shark invested waters...You give them blood they will come to feed. By stating flaming in the thread the OP admitted they knew what they were doing was wrong, and people like me want to see what the thread is about... rubbernecking if you will.

No flames from me though, to each their own. but I would assume that a Preview of an attraction as big as EE in a theme park as big as disney would get the CM checking very closely... The movie theathers practically strip search you during a preview and make you return to your car if you have any type of recording device (phone with camera of voice recorder, camera, video camera... etc.)

If you do try it, I hope you realize that the outcome could turn out pretty ugly for you in the line.

Not going to turn on the flame thrower but I will suggest you not even try. The preview that is being offered is for AP Holders and DVC Owners. Not people that have expired passes.

That being said, I think they will be checking pretty close because in the notices of the previews they indicated that they will be giving away a lanyard and a pin with the preview opening (one per person). I would imagine that they will scan your AP or DVC card so you can't keep getting in line and getting the pin/lanyard each time.

If you really want a ride, show up near the entrance to the attraction. If you ask nicely, someone that is a DVC owner might take you on with them. They are allow 3 guests for each card.

Good luck!!!

Let's agree the OP's question has been answered with a resounding 'don't try it!' shall we? ;)

BTW, if you post something that shows you know you're trying to 'break the Disney laws' it's pretty likely to get closed. Just a friendly word of advise for the future. :hyper2:
