What do you think Disney should do for event pins? Should the edition size be lower? Should the pins not be sold after the event? What do you think?

I would like to see lower edition sizes and a few event only pins... Not pins I can see on the rack 8 months later.. Those are good traders huh... But maybe some le 500's or 1000's that are just for the event. Sure it will be harder to get but will make the quest to finish a set more fun... Then what ever does not sell... Retire and use at the next event like they do with the cast blast pins...

I agree with you Nat. The edition sizes of event pins are too high, and they are releasing WAY too many pins at events in general...it's obnoxious that the Sept. event pins are still on the racks, especially after that first day in line! Once an event is over, the pins shouldn't see the light of day again.

Personally, I don't mind paying more for an event where they sell pins exclusive to the event. That being said, I had a GREAT time at the Sept event...which had nothing to do with anything Disney did, but rather with spending time with friends. But from purely a pin collector's point of view, I would prefer to have higher cost events with special/exclusive pins that are only available to event participants. And by special, I mean SPECIAL! IMHO, most of the event pins have been fair at best lately. I think the fact that so many of them are still sitting on the racks is testament to that!

I have never been to an event, but I agree about the LE size. I think if you are having an event, the pins should be event specific and only available to event attendees.

The ones 'left' over could be used for other events, like that trade board they had at Parti Gras or when you won the dabloons (sp?) and could 'cash' them in for pins (I know that didn't go as well as planned, but the idea was good.)
That way they are still only available to an event attendee, even tho it may be a pin from a previous event.

They could have a few pins that would be LE and put on the racks, but not the WHOLE event assortment!

I am sure Disney is capable of organizing a whole group of people for an event. They have conventions all the time, how do they prevent people sneaking into that???

A Pin Event is basically a Pin Convention if you ask me. So HANDLE it like so! I like the idea of the Toontown Event starting WAY before park opening......however they need to work on the transport for that. Many people don't use cars when at Disney....they need an alternative when there is an event such as this.
