As we are lucky enough to be taking our lovely babysitters with us :goodvibes I thought it'd be nice for me and DH to have a very rare evening out just the two of us.

It's my first trip to Florida and although DH has been several times before, they never ate at any table service type Disney restaurants so he's clueless too.

I am open to any non Disney suggestions but I did think it might be nice to have a meal on Disney Property and perhaps catch the fireworks etc... without having to wrestle my DS! (not a fan of fireworks!)

Any ideas?! Budget isn't really too much of a problem (within reason lol) as we're used to having to pay for 4/5 of us! Somewhere we wouldn't neccessarily take the kids (they'll be 7,6 & 1!) would be nice, DH does like his sea food but this isn't a deal breaker.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Narcossees at the Grand Floridian serves Seafood and you can view the fireworks from there, the G F also has Citricos which is very grown up and if you want yo pay $$$ then Victoria and Alberts.

We have enjoyed California Grill in the past at The Contemporary Resort, again you can see fireworks from there, but I haven't been since it was refurbished.

You have plenty of choices and if you eat offsite or at one of the other restaurants you could always return to the Polynesian and watch the fireworks from the beach :thumbsup2

Any of the Disney signature restaurants will have a more grown up atmosphere except probably CA grill.

Flying Fish is very nice and you would wonder in to Epcot after to see the fireworks.

Other Narcoossees at the GF has a good seafood menu with a view of wishes.

Our favourite is Artist Point at WL. You can get a boat to MK to watch wishes after or watch from the beach. :goodvibes

I take it that you have a car if not then the idea I have will not work for you.

Go off site and drive to Hwy 192 . Go to the Animal Kingdom end of 192

There are plenty of Buffet sit at tables places to eat.

Golden Corral is Family orientated and supply High chairs .

The older children & Adults can Eat what they choose from the buffet containers. . Steaks , Beef, Ham.. Chicken , etc .. & Icecream , Cakes etc

And Replenish their plates as often as YOU allow .

There are others Ponderosa , Sisslers etc .

Then head West on Hwy 192 & there is another area of up market

Places to eat .

Longhorn, Millers Ale House ( they do serve beer .. but mainly in another side area ), Logans & many others

All of the above must be done by driving a car.

If you have a car ... be adventurous Eating out is not expensive

But you will find out soon enough by looking at the entrance Q.

Hi Ro :)

It is lovely to get a night off (and know your children are in safe hands) isn't it?

I think Narcossees looks fab but also what about Le Cellier in Epcot - pricey but meant to be good - lots of 'adults' appear to try and book for special birthdays etc. They also sell seafood - as well as steak etc. I also like the look of the Grand Floridian and a lot of their eateries - and being able to watch fireworks from the beach without having to 'watch' your children sounds heavenly.

I don't think we'll bother with an adult only meal on our trip (we eat out quite a bit on our own at home anyway) but I do think we will have a few nights where we head back out when the children have gone to bed (with my parents babysitting) and have a night to ourselves. I would love to watch the fireworks from the beach of GF or CR, ride a few thrill rides in the dark, have a few cocktails, shop without constant niggling etc etc. I am sure you get the picture :thumbsup2

Thanks guys!

Have had a good look and Narcossees looks fab, but I do like the idea of an evening at Epcot too! Decisions decisions!

Think we have decided it has to be a Disney restaurant for a special meal though. We can always pop out locally on another evening, even if it's just for a few drinks.

I think if we were onsite we'd definitely have a few more evenings in the parks without the kids, but at the moment it really depends on how far the villa is away. The trouble with AoA!

Hi Robear84

So where abouts is the Villa that you are staying in ?

This will give me an idea of other places for you to "eat out " or take the rest of your party to do something different ?

such as a trip on a Swamp Buggy at the Showcase of Citrus on Hwy 27.

If you say the villa is in Davenport ... that is a huge area covering many Communities so try to say it is in such a community .

This will help people like me who try and help .

I have a villa for the last 12 years so I do know a bit of the Area of Disney & Beyond

If you want something else to do after you have eaten your meal then head to Jellyrolls (the duelling piano bar).

This is my favourite thing to do with DH, especially as there are now no clubs at DTD.

This option works well if you opt for a meal at Le Cellier because you can walk out of the International Gateway and onto the Boardwalk.

There is a cover charge but it is a great night out :D

If budget is not a problem how about a private butler dinner at the grand floridian, we had one a few years back and ut was great. We had views of wishes and illuminations

They recreated our wedding meal from when we were married in disney and everythng was lovely

We don't know, it's booked through a travel agent so allocation on arrival. Somewhere in Kissimmee, think it states Clermont, Davenport and Haines...so could be anywhere!

Thanks for the suggestions though. We're pretty much sorted with family eateries, do have a few of your suggestions as possibles though, need to narrow them down now rather than find more :) Just really unsure about our 'date night'!

Ah wow, I bet that was amazing! Although we can afford a bit more than we would for a normal family meal, I don't think our finances will stretch quite that far. Need a windfall before September now!! :goodvibes
