An evening drink

Hi all,
First of all I am not a regular drinker , in fact the only time I have one is on holiday, guess the feeling of having a tan and wanting to make the most of the time on holiday makes me crave for one.
We generally stay in a villa these days for several reasons, however, the 1 downside is that you have to drive everywhere so obviously going out and getting drunk is a no-no, but a quiet drink should be fine.

In years gone by I used to just walk down to the bar at the Rosen Center or whatever hotel we are staying at, my little lad is usually ready for bed at 7pm(ish) after a busy day and my wife would rather curl up with him and watch TV!!
So now and again I like to pop out for an hour, as we are in Kissimmee I am looking for anyone's thoughts on the best places, I know about Old Town, Harry Ramsbottom's , the bar at the Outback..but was wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere a bit nicer, maybe a sports bar? I know about the ESPN at the Boardwalk but have never been.

Also does anybody find that at the nicer hotels these days you cannot go in unless you are a guest? Does an Annual Disney pass mean that you can visit any of the Disney hotels , maybe one of the restaurants there if son and wife fancy a night out?..or can you go inside the hotels anyway, it is just that I know when we stayed at the Rosen Center there was security, seem to remember people saying they went for breakfast at the Peabody once so some hotels must let you in.??

I can't be too much help to you I'm afraid but I do know for a fact that ANYONE can go to a Disney hotel to look around, dine or get a drink. You will be stopped at the security gate but just say you're here to visit and they'll give you a 3 hour parking pass.

Johnny, definitely it's okay to go for a meal / drink in any of the WDW hotels. In fact, it's one of our favourite things to do!

Thanks for the replies, although we have been to Orlando many times it is not something we have done before but we will in August.
