An aussie visit

I was hoping I could bring some snacks in- but Australian quarantine won't let anything in so I wasn't sure about the US.

Is there somewhere within walking distance or easily accessible where you can buy groceries?

I will definately try and get a late flight so I can keep the girls busy till the flight- then they should crash...

I recently purchased the Frommers Guide to WDW and Orlando - I think they have one for DLR/California. Check out the travel section in Borders - there are heaps to pick from there - and if you have some time you can skim read a couple and just buy the one you want.

From all reports Ho Jo's is very good.

You must try the following restaurants on Sth Harbour Blvd - you will basically walk past them on your way to the parks:
- Millies (any meal)
- iHop (breakfast)
- Tony Roma's (dinner - the ribs are fabulous!)

Let me know if you have any other queries.

Thanks for the dining tops- will definately try them...:upsidedow

Unfortunately, yes it will be busy over Easter (spring break) time. But the hours will be long, and lots of entertainment available. If your bodies can manage get to DL early, hop to DCA when DL gets busy around lunch, spend late afternoon resting/swimming, and close the parks down at night !

What are the usual hours at Spring break- are the weekdays still quieter?

HoJo is very good place to stay a short walk to Disneyland we are staying at the Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate because we what a kitchen and has have some good reviews try tripadvisor.com
Millies and Tony Roma's are very good but skip ihop to expensive and we didn't have a good experience there

Ozvisitor,

Another tip, on your flight, assuming you are flying economy like the rest of us, try to sit as far forward as you can. It makes a big difference to the wait time to get through immigration when you disembark at LAX. Nothing worse standing around for long period of time at immigarion after a 15+ hour flight.

Just a tip on food, us Kiwis found the american food very high in carbs and very low in greens. On our second trip we bought an electric frypan ($29) from target and cooked most of our own meals, good for our budget and our health. There is a good supermarket within walking distance of DL where you can buy fresh produce. Which hotel are you staying at? I can give you directions...

From HoJos to get to Target: Cross the road to the Bus stop outside DL and take a "43" bus heading south, Target is about 2 kms down on your left, look out for Chapman Rd pretty sure it is close to that cross street, the cross streets are called out as they come up. Target is set off the road a little but is pretty obvious. Target sell a range of groceries but no fresh anything. If like us you are fussy about water then buy this here as it is easier to transport back on the bus.

From HoJos to Supermarket: Head north up Harbor to Ball Rd then turn right into Ball and the supermarket is set off the road on your right about 400 metres down, an easy walk. It is a "Spanish" supermarket, ie signs are in spanish, people speak spanish but we had no problems at all, they have fresh fruit and vege, fresh meat as well as normal groceries.

If shopping is your thing I can give you the buses to take to get to those, you don't need a car in Anaheim, the transport systems are good....
