Actually George Will said this morning that we need to "step back" and look at the entire picture. Falugia is one very small part of Iraq where things are working nicely. The area that this happened in is one small part of Falugia. Its a scene that fits in our tv screen but it isn't the entire picture. Heck, if it was about oil, we'd invade Mexico and Venezuela.

My gut response while watching this on the news was that hopefully when we get a new president he will straighten this out and remove our troops from over there.

My next day response is the same.......you can not reason with people who have no reason. Even if there are innocent people over there, which there are, we need to get out of there. We got Saddam, let those ungrateful people have their country. Lets mind our own business!

I am horrified......I wish I had the answers, I don't....I am starting to really question what is going on there and yet I feel that we cannot pull out. If we do, there would be such a slaughter of those who have worked with us to help bring democracy to Iraq.

I just hope the rest of the world is watching. Maybe those who blame America whenever they can will feel differently... No one deserves to be treated like that in death.

My heart goes out to the families of those slain soldiers. I am beyond words.

ACTUALLY Wasn't this ALL about weapons of mass destruction, which have STILL yet to be found?

I know this is a horrible casualty, but such is the price to pay in a war. I feel saddened for the families of the people that passed, but you all must remember, They had the courage and bravery to go over in the first place, and IMO, that deserves my respect. My father went over there back during operation desert shield / desert storm and he told me his stories. I'm proud of everyone over there that's on our side. I think it will all smooth out within the next few months.

How will he straighten it out? Get the UN peacekeepers in there? Do you not know what their track record is?

You're right, you can't reason with people that have no reason as in this case. Your solution would be to leave those people there to cause havoc and possibly create another Saddam to take over?
My solution is to incarcerate or, if need be, terminate those people.

While there are some (a small percentage) of people who appear to be more than just ungrateful, the larger percentage of them are glad that we liberated them from Saddam and his band of murderers and thugs.

Lastly, we did "mind our own business" and nearly 1 million Rwandans were massacred.

One of the best things about being an American is that we have historically rebuilt the countries that we have decimated through war. Start to hurt us or commit crimes against humanity and we're there to put you down... but once the battles are finished, we'll forgive and forget and help you build yourself back up.

We can't back out now, short of my previous suggestion of building a wall that keeps all the creeps inside of it so they can reke havoc on themselves and not on others. We need to finish what we started.

We are in a clash of civilizations. We thought they had weapons, and we had slightly biased leadership, so we fought. It wasn't as justified an entrance as it would have been if genocide was present, a la Rwanda, but Hussein did gas the Kurds, so you could make a case for longer-term justification. But now that we're there, a half-assed fight isn't going to work. When we commit to fight, we should fight to the end, and I'm sure that in the meanwhile, Delta Force or some other group we'll never hear much about is in Fallujah making shish kebab of those responsible for hanging those civilians off that bridge.

I read this morning that the US would not allow those deaths to go 'unpunished'. I am glad that America isn't going to do nothing in response to these deaths.

The whole incident makes me so angry.

Well there is alot of sand over there if you drop the right bomb you could turn it into one really big piece of glass. Ok now you liberated then from Saddam what makes you think the next person to take over will be any different wether you choose him or they do it is a vicious cycle and by this time next year people over htere will be crying the bles because so and so is now a mad man etc.

After 9/11 the newscasts repeatedly showed a clip of people dancing in the street celebrating. I still remember the face of one woman singing and dancing and celebrating the death of Americans. I have worked very hard at subduing the anger, and yes, hatred, this scene inspired in me. It was all revived yesterday. It is a very terrifying thing to know that one people can hate another so much.
