An Annoying (but effective) MDE fix ...

0k- this might not work for everyone have a problem with MDE - especially trying to view/load your plans - an IT friend of mine suggested that it might be a security issue , and managed a fix for my system - I am using the web and safari - if you log in to your profile, go into settings - you don't have to make any changes - just click "done"- I believe it works if you use your contact info as well - just click done - close out that window when done and then load plans from whatever browser you are using , and the plans load without a problem (at least they did here) - hopefully can help some others - wow - if this is really a built in security issue that is leading to many of the MDE glitches - ? Really sad !

I live in NY but my MDE is listed as UK and my DVC webpage is, I'm guessing, China.

NY here too ! Yep - mine did that too - was changing to Canada and MDE wouldn't work at all ! Changed it to us -English and worked - until last week when my plans wouldn't load - page kept refreshing - with this fix, seems to be fine now

It worked. It is so stupid simple that I have no idea why it worked--but it did! I can now see all my plans & ADRs!
 
This is not a problem with MDE. Its a problem with OSX/iOS and Safari.

Not sure if that's entirely true, because I use safari on all of my devices without a problem - the only device that gives me a problem is my iPad - which also uses safari - from what I was told, it could be a security meaure that is built into MDE - the system might be picking up the fact that the website is being refreshed, and the user gets flagged as a "bot" - personally, I have to refresh my iPad constantly, in an attempt to load all of my plans - once I go into my profile and confirm that the account is mine, I am able to successfully login -
 
My theory is that this works for the same reason incognito mode or clearing your cache works. It forces the system to use a fresh state instead of whatever stale/broken snapshot of your session it had before. All of my analysis indicates that the app and website store a ton of session information in the users local system. The more systems you use, the more opportunities for it to get out of sync, and when it does, things go sideways. All these little tricks are ways to force the system to throw out the bad state and load a fresh one, which will work until you slowly de-sync again due to programming glitches. Similarly, killing the app on your phone and clearing it's data/cache (easy to do on Android, less so on iOS) forces a fresh state load and fixes every problem for me. Literally every software problem is fixed by this for me, further evidence that the bad state tracking (which indicates a systemic architectural problem) is the root cause.

Too bad they'll never fix it.

Nope, this is definitely 100% a problem with MDE and the way it maintains application state. Slight differences in client software can make them more susceptible, but the problem is absolutely on Disney's end.

Totally agree ! I don't think there is any way that it's simply a browser issue - like I mentioned in another post, I have tried different browsers and had the same issues - and using safari on 5 different devices without an issue - the only hardware that gives me problems is my iPad, which i use the most - (by far) - and the fix was just too easy - once I go into my profile and confirm that I am in the US and confirm
my preferences, MDE loads -
 
Mine always defaults to Canada even after I change it. The homepage of the website always shows me Canadian offers.
 
I can't see my plans in anything but Internet Explorer. None of my i-devices via Safari will show them, and if I use any other browser on my laptop (Chrome, etc.) it just shows a blank screen and sits there forever. It made doing FP yesterday LOTS of fun because my IE runs so much slower than any other browser . . .:sad2: I was able to go in through Chrome to book the FP, but then I had to go to IE to see what I had booked! At lease I got SDD . . .:thumbsup2
 
I can only view mine in Incognito Chrome - other browsers do the sign in dance where it goes back to that screen immediately upon trying to load. Very frustrating. :/

Be glad there's no extra fee for that experience. You have to pay extra for that in the city.
