We're planning one mellow day in the middle of our trip with a late morning, swimming, nap, and then an afternoon/evening at Fort Wilderness. The plan is to go to Hoop Dee Doo, the campfire, and the electric boat parade. (I read about that in the Pass Porter and it sounds really neat!)

I'm wondering if there are other kid activities that I should plan into the afternoon/evening, and if there is a schedule for the campfire or electric boat parade.

You could schedule a wagon ride around the campground (I'm not sure how early they start), or just walk around. If you're really feeling lazy you can just "set a spell" in the rockers on the front porch of Trail's End. I *think* you can still go to the stables to see the horses. Have fun--I love FW

FW is a great place to go hang out and there are lots of activities for all ages. Having said that, I don't know the schedule for everything but the guys on the camping board know everything there is to know about FW. I'd ask your question over there - you'll get all the information you're looking for, and likely more. ;)

FW is a wonderufl place for families to play. Here are some of the activities that yo can do:

Campfire/movie and make smores
Watcht he electric water parade fromt he beach
rent boats at the marina
petting zoo and pony rides if available
hayride/wagon ride
fishing
rent a kayak or bike from there rental shop

As I understand it, the petting zoo is no longer there.

But, you can go either horse back riding or pony riding depending on the age of the kids. There is also a nice sand beach with a playground.
