I know free dining or just regular DDP has changed the rules for everything, but one part of me thinks that people aren't likely to waste a TS credit for lunch at TSS (not when they can use the same credit for a character dinner at TSS). So, I was wondering if anyone has had any recent experience with being accepted or rejected when trying to lunch at TSS w/o an ADR?

we used TS for Lunch at LTT last year and did not think it was a waste at all. Food was fabulous and we didn't need characters. Being right in MK, I would think LTT would be a hard place to walk into without ADRs.

The TWO times we tried to "walk in" at LTT...They were Full!!!

The next time we went, I secured an ADR for LTT and will EVERY time we want to go there.

Food and atmosphere are fantastic and I was told that Floridians go there when in MK.

:cool1: :rolleyes1 :cool1:

I wouldn't count on being able to walk in. A lot of people prefer lunch there to dinner

Ate lunch there in June and 'walk-ins' were turned away.

Phew, glad I checked!! Goes to show just how useful the Dis is! I would have been slinking out with my head hung low come next May if I hadn't asked ;) Thanks!

We visited LTT for lunch last month and we had ADRs because there were nine of us. I made the ADR because of our group size and I'm glad that I did -folks were turned away consistently. By the way - seven members of our group were college kids and they loved the food and the atmosphere. It is difficult to find somewhere that everyone enjoys - but they all did! Great food- and service - and we had a table in the corner in the front. I would highly recommend!

We also used TS credits at LTT for lunch and loved it!
1. It was a nice mid-day break out of the sun right inside MK
2. The food was fantastic - I would never go to the dinner because I dislike traditional Thanksgiving-type food and during this particular trip, we already had 3 character meals scheduled
3. The service was probably the best TS service we had during that trip

Even with ADRs, during a not so busy time of year (early May), we had to wait a bit to be seated. There were alot of people waiting.

We were able to walk in last April for lunch. We went there right when they opened (I think it was at 11am???). We were seated within 5 mins. We were at WDW during the 1st week of April when it was PACKED!!! so we were pleasently surprised to get a walk in. It was OK there. The food was very saltly but good. The desserts were out of this world.

LTT is often very busy at lunch, even before the dining plan. We are going to use the dining plan for lunch there in December. Definitely get an ADR. I prefer lunch here to the dinner, even though the dinner is also very good.

A place you may have better luck without an ADR for lunch is The Plaza. Very good sandwiches and ice cream! It even gets busy here though, so an ADR isn't a bad idea. Our first time eating here we walked up sort of spur of the moment, but since then we've always made an ADR. I don't think its likely that many on the dining plan will be eating here, but I really don't think the majority of WDW visitors are on the dining plan even during free dining. I'm sure a much larger number use the dining plan when its free though...so it depends on when you are going.

We have little interest in character meals anyway and don't care for the evening menu at LLT. We usually go there for lunch while at MK though, as it's my favorite restaurant in MK. I love the crab cakes! We often do a TS meal for lunch and then a CS in the evening. In warm weather, we enjoy the chance to go inside and be waited on during the hottest part of the day.

We always enjoy lunch there, but we don't care for the dinner at all. (Tastes like a turkey TV dinner, in my opinion.) It always seems to be pretty busy when we're there.

I would make a reservation. We just ate there two weeks ago and I was lucky I had the reservation.
