Amy, I'm so glad your friend's surgery went well! Hopefully she'll get some permanent relief form her pain.
I pray that things work out for Dan with his employment issues. (Been there, done that) Networking is the best way to find employment. The fact that he is being so pro-active will make all the difference.
I totally get what you say about your body image. When we look in the mirror we sometimes see what we want to see, but when our image is captured its a totally different story. I know that when I see my picture I always think...do I really look like that? But on the other hand, it works in the opposite way too. When I was in my early 30s, I lost 60 lbs. just by eating less and exercising. No journaling, calories or points. I remember one day while taking an aerobics class and looking in that huge mirror, I saw a person who was actually thin and fit but did not recognize that person as me. I guess I'm trying to say a big part of our self-image is what we create for ourselves.
Don't fret too much about the measurements. Your best indicator is how your clothes feel and you said they fit differently now. Just think that when you're at goal weight you'll be glad that you took those measurements as another indicator of how far you've come.
Have a great day!!!!
