Amy's Journal: Comments Welcome!

Thank you everyone. Tracy, I was feeling better, now I seem to be feeling sort of nasty again. I think part of it is nerves and excitement regarding the cruise and Hurricane Ernesto. I am wondering if our late flight on Wednesday evening (actually supposed to arrive just past midnight so I guess that makes it Thursday morning) is going to happen or not. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Saturday was pretty good. I used up another 10 flex points still leaving me 15 flex points which I intend not to use. I worked out 50 minutes on Saturday and 20 on Sunday. Yesterday I came in about 5 points under my daily total. I had all my food listed out but have not lost my little cheat sheet! My best moment with food this weekend was taking Subway into the movie yesterday (saw that new Hillary Duff movie with the kids) so that I could eat something healthy. I did have a bit of popcorn and a few nachos but held my own.

I am just beat today, I didn't manage to fall asleep until after 3:00 a.m.. Probably because I watched too much CNN, Bin Laden documentary, TWA Flight 800 documentary and Jon Benet Ramesey junk on Larry King. Now why do I do that, esp the terrorist and plane crash stuff right before I fly :confused3 ? No wonder I couldn't sleep!

Hoping to get a good workout in today and do well with food and maybe get a short nap, plus pack and clean. Full day. I will visit journals this evening after I update today's food and exercise. Thanks for reading!

Sorry you are feeling yucky again. Take it easy, if you can today (yea, right!) Great job at the movies. I did not do so well last week when we I took DD12 to see the new Duff movie - the smell of movie popcorn draws me in everytime! :rolleyes1

In just a few short days you are going to be relaxing in Florida :sunny: . The latest forecast looks good for you with Ernesto passing by before you get there. Hang in there!

I didn't sleep very good right before my Disney cruise either. It's like that commercial with the 2 little kids going to Disneyland - "I'm just too excited to sleep!"

You have been doing awesome with tracking your points and getting your workouts in, even if you've been feeling under the weather. Keep it up! Just think, in a few short days you will be having the time of your life. Don't worry about the flight, it will be fine. Just give yourselves plenty of time at the airport. DId I tell you today how jealous I am? I think it's been a few days, just thought I'd remind you...

Thanks Amy and Anna. Yeah, Amy I seem to recall you are a tad jealous. But your cruise is coming up so when I get home from mine, its my turn to be jealous of you! Then we can both weep together that our adventures on the DCL are over for the time being!

I have felt so queasy today. I have thus far eaten half of a Lean Cuisine and some Pepsi (trying to settle my stomach). No exercise. My drama of the day was I began to pack all my new clothes. Remember all the new stuff I bought about a month ago? Well guess what, half of it was too big! Kinda nice but more than anything a huge pain in the butt. I had to take back two dresses, the store had nothing for me, its Plus Sized and their stuff runs really big so I am now outsized out of there. Fine, I hope they never see me again! Another dress I ran halfway across town to an alterations lady to have it taken in (next day service thank goodness) and then I went to yet another store and found an outfit that fit. I'll swear, its feast or famine with fitting into my clothes. I had no idea this would happend, I've lost maybe 3-5 pounds since I bought those clothes. Guess its the working out. And the stress of this plus my nausea about put me over the edge. And now I have a parent teacher conference to attend (what its up with that, school just started :confused3 ). So I have not exercised and I have only eaten about one fourth my daily points. This is gonna backfire on me I am sure and ruin my chances of getting that 30 pound star on Wed. Okay, rant over!

Anna, I need to check the forecast, maybe things have looked up. Hope so! Too bad you can't take liquids on the plane. I will need one of those boxes of wine to get me on that plane with the anticipation of landing in a hurricane. Last October we took off as Wilma descended, now Ernesto is here. And did I mention I HATE TO FLY!! :furious:

I hope you feel better quickly. Sending you positive thoughts where Ernesto is concerned!!!! Here's to a fantastic trip for the SMALLER you!!! :sunny: Have you bought your wine yet? ;)

CJK: Didn't buy the wine, but its tempting. I could just drink it down while waiting in security before they make you throw out your liquids! Seriously, I hate to fly and the thought of landing even post hurricane is unappealing.

Today's food was weird to say the least. I have very little "good" food in my house even though I grocery shopped last week. When you eat healthy I am noticing it all goes quick. I am starting to feel better. Had my conference, my dd is doing great and in honor of her currently having an A in math (very unusual) I let her pick where we ate for dinner. She picked KFC most unfortunately. I was starved and it smelled good. I stayed within points today but again, ate too many carbs and no veggies or fruit. Bad Amy!

Breakfast: 2 oz. turkery (2)
Lunch: 1/2 Lean Cuisine (3)
Pepsi: (3)
KFC Strips (7)
Mac and Cheese (5)
Potatoes w/ gravy (3)
Total: 23 (3 points under). What a lousy day. Look at those carbs tonight, mac and cheese and mashed pot? What's wrong with me? Am I trying to blow this 30 pound thing out of the water? I cannot figure me out half the time.

I did not exercise. I am hoping to hit this tomorrow, I may try to get a walk in a bit later but its already after 8:00. Tomorrow I must exercise or else! Thanks for reading.

:grouphug: Amy,

I hope you are feeling better today. :goodvibes I know that you leave for your cruise soon, but please try and relax and do something special for you today. I am praying for you and your family and hope that everything goes well on the flights to and fro and while you are on the cruise. :goodvibes

Take good care of you, WISH sis! :grouphug:

I think you will be OK with regards to Ernesto. I think it will be past by the time you get there. Plus it is still a tropical storm (knock on wood for it to stay that way) so it won't be as bad as you think.

Wow, what a great problem to have - clothes being too big! I wish I had that problem... Yes, I have a cruise coming up in Nov, but it is not on DCL. :guilty: But a cruise is a cruise and hopefully I haven't been so spoiled by DCL that I find a bunch of faults on Norwegian Cruise Line...

It might be worth the extra $5-10 on the plane to buy some little bottles of booze. It'll calm your nerves, especially if you hate flying. Or getting smashed in the security line is also an option...

Were you able to get your exercise in today? I'm glad to hear your tummy is starting to calm down.

Funny beagle story for you. Buckley is a tri-color (I can't remember, is Benjamin a tri-color?) and I got the kids that Listerine Code Blue (so they can tell where to spend extra time brushing their teeth) and of course klutzy DD7 spilled it. Buckley tried to lick it all up, but we got him out of the bathroom pretty quickly. After cleaning up blue walls, door, floor, cabinet and shoes, it was time to leave for work/school. When I got home, DH asked why the dog was blue. On his white chest, he had huge blue areas (he must have gotten sprayed when it fell). It was hilarious! :rotfl:

Wow, Amy! You're doing AWESOME!!

Cruise is coming!!

Have a great rest of the week! Hopefully Ernesto won't be a problem - I hate flying, too!!

Hi everyone. Well I am clearly not going to make my August exercise challenge :guilty: . I should have done 800 minutes I guess instead of 900, thought I could make it. I was doing so well too! But getting sick and getting ready for the cruise didn't make this easy. I lost a whole day yesterday running around getting my clothes figured out. I am still not feeling 100%. I may take a break from packing tonight and try to Walk Away the Pounds but frankly after packing and cleaning all day I feel like crashing! Thanks for all your support. I am going to WW tomorrow to weigh in, hopefully it will be good news! I'll post back when we return on the 9th, I'll miss the daily accountability of posting and my WISH friends! See you when I get back!

Food today:
Breakfast: Slim Fast (4)
Lunch: Lean Cuisine (5)
Snack: Slim Fast (4)
Dinner: 1/2 cheeseburger, 1/2 baked potato (10)
No fruits, no veggies. 23 points for the day, 3 points under. Did drink my water as usual, plus a diet coke. No exercise thus far but hey, who knows I may get a sudden burst of energy here tonight and at least add a few minutes! Also, I just realized that on Thursday if all goes according to plan, I should be at Blizzard Beach. So I guess that might earn me some activity. Who knows, if I get my butt in gear tonight and tomorrow and get to BB on Thursday I make it after all.

Oh and another reason its pushing 10:00 p.m. and I didn't exercise yet is because my stupid kitchen sink backed up. I spent a very long hour plus fixing it, cleaning up the mess etc. So my sink is great shape but my butt is not. I need a wife to help me run my life!

Hi Amy,

I definitely think that you should count your minutes at BB for the exercise challenge! I know that when we go to BB or TL wo do lots of walking, lots of swimming, and stair climbing. I bet you will make your goal! :Pinkbounc

I hope you and your family have a safe, relaxing, and fun cruise/vacation! :grouphug:

Well I didn't get my 30 pound star. In fact I was up a half pound. I think I didn't eat enough the last few days. And I ate way too many processed foods and not enough fruits, veggies and fiber. Getting sick, TOM, stress and the like just didn't help me to make it happen. I am still feeling good however, having my new clothes be too big helped me to realize there is a bigger picutre than the number on the scale. I new I was up because of TOM but I went anyway. So this is my last post before I leave. I thank you for all your support, I'll see you all when I get back! Oh, and I am not even worrying about August challenge, I am so far away I can't catch up. Still proud of my 700+ minutes however!

You did AWESOME on your exercise challenge and it shows with the looser clothes. I think you know where the SMALL gain came from, and I am glad to hear you are not all bent out of shape about it. Have an awesome time on your trip, I will miss you while you are gone!

Amy have a wonderful, magical, fantabulous trip! party: Enjoy spending time with your family and RELAX! :sunny: Can't wait to here all about your cruise when you get back!

Looks like the weather went in your favour & you landed in one piece :)
Have a fantastic time!

Have a wonderful time!!!! I can't wait to hear all about your cruise. I have yet to go on one and will live vicariously through you! Have fun!! :sunny:

Thanks everyone! Amy I'll miss you too, funny how we all get used to "talking" to each other every day!

I did make my exercise challenge! I ended up doing some Walk Away the Pounds on Wednesday, parked about five miles from the terminal and went to Blizzard Beach for 7 hours yesterday. I am taking Tracy's advice and counting that activity in yesterday for my total. I must say I was a bit aggravated with myself about that small gain. It was a good lesson however that points are not created equal!

Food on Wednesday was fine. I had veggie soup for lunch (no breakfast again another thing I need to cut out but then I never eat before I weigh so that I get more of a feeling that my weigh ins are consistent and not being tampered with by varying breakfast choices). Food yesterday was awful. I did fine, skipped breakfast ( we slept in a bit, didn't get to Coronado Springs until 2:30 a.m.). Lunch was two chicken strips a few fries and a diet coke. Then I was very active. Now fast forward to dinner. Maya Grill. I had a crab chalupa, two rolls with olive oil, a large steak (didn't finish) some mashed potatoes and one of dd's mozzerella cheese sticks. And three Coors lights. I was almost ill. I was so uncomfortable all night it was insane! My husband smelled blood in the water and knew the Sgt. Diet Policewoman was off duty and he went for broke too. Today we agreed we need to moderate our naughtiness!

Today I walked for 45 minutes around the lake here at CSR so that was good. Also had cereal with skim milk and a water bottle for breakfast. Tonight is O'Hana so that should be a pig out too but hopefully not to the point I feel like I need to have my stomach pumped.

Thanks for all the good wishes. I am excited for the cruise but also excited to be home and get to my 42 by 42 goal. I'll see you when I get back.

Here is my exercise for the last two days of August:
Wed: 30 minutes Walk Away the Pounds
20 minute walk at DIA (thats conservative believe me)
So 50 for that day

Thursday:
I'm going for 120 minutes for this day. Blizzard Beach was pretty uncrowded which meant it was a great time to ride Teamboat Springs and the like. So climbing up those stairs at least 10 times througout the day, doing some walking on the Lazy River, swam laps the last 20 minutes after they turned off the wave machine in that pool and just walking around the park. I feel pretty comfortable with counting 2 hours of my 7 hours there. I also walked around CSR some yesterday so I'll include that in the 120 total too.

I'll see you all when I get back.

P.S. It was only raining when we got here so we had a smooth landing. Taking a couple of my mom's xanax's helped with the flight woes!

Great job meeting your exercise goal!!!!!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :cool1: :yay:

I know what you mean about overindulging. It's just not as fun as it used to be, is it? Hopefully you will find that happy medium of enjoying the goodies without getting too full. It's a fine line, I know!

Have an awesome time and we'll chat when you get back! I can't wait to hear all about it. Don't forget my cheesecake! :goodvibes

Congrats on making your exercise goal - Fantastic! :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :thumbsup2

I am so glad your flight went well and you had such a nice time at Blizzard Beach. I am VERY impressed with your walking in the morning on your vacation. :cool1: :thumbsup2

Have an absolutely magical time on your cruise. Enjoy and RELAX. We'll work on our birthday goals together when you get back! :teeth:
