AmyM's Quest for a Better Bikini Body!

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today was SO STRESSFUL at work!!!!!!! I was really wanting to deck a couple of my co-workers. I have this huge proposal that is due tomorrow, and I was supposed to be "tag teaming" the effort with another guy in my group (he was on vacation one week and I was in the UK last week). Well, he didn't do ANYTHING while I was gone, and I was stuck not only cleaning out the 50 new e-mails that came in on Thu and Fri (when I had no internet access), but I had to scramble to get all this stuff done for tomorrow's presentation. Needless to say, I had a pounding headache all day and did not make it to the gym. I should have went to take some of the stress out, but I didn't go grocery shopping as planned yesterday and I had to get that done so I could make dinner. I still have a raging headache, I'm hoping to calm down soon and relax. As soon as the kids go to bed, I think I will veg out in front of the TV (I have 3 weeks of Desperate Housewives to catch up on). That should take the edge off. I'm not even in the mood to write down yesterday's food. Everything was good except I ate ~1c of trail mix (snacked on it a couple different times during the day). Other than that, all was good, water was good, workout was non-existent... :rolleyes1 I was very busy cleaning and decorating for Halloween (only Christmas brings more decorations at our house!). I should be in a better mood tomorrow! :wizard:

Anna, my crazy week is only getting crazier. Going on vacation right after a biz trip is obviously not a good idea. Not like I planned that, Mexico was scheduled WAY before the biz trip! I have pretty much given up on exercising until I get back. It's just too hectic right now.

Amy, I'm gonna need some margaritas by the time this week is over! I'll stop by Hi-Health and get some SF margarita mix. At least I can indulge without completely going off the deep end!

Jane, I hope you have good weather for your food and wine festival! Walking around in the rain is no fun - believe me, I did it in London for 8 hours last week...

It is tough to come back to work after being out of the office, and is sure doesn't help when someone else didn't do what they were supposed to. Hopefully you are getting some good veg time now. Good Luck with your presentation tomorrow :wizard: . I'm sure it will go well.

Glad you had fun with the Halloween decorations. I need to pull ours out. For years halloween has been in the middle of the kids Fall break so we are generally away. No Fall break for DD12 this year so we'll actually be home for a change. Christmas is our big decoration thing (think Griswold's!). DH spends all of Thanksgiving weekend putting up lights.

Good Luck with the rest of your week and have a fantastic time in Mexico too! :sunny:

I think all that cleaning & decorating should count as some exercise!!!
Hope you are feeling less stressed now, & have a nice chilled evening :)
I may not get the chance to post again before you leave so just wanted to wish you ANOTHER safe trip :) & have a great time in Mexico :)

Wow, the first day back at work and I already fell into the 5:00 snack trap... :confused3 I'm a hopeless case, I'm tellin' ya! Other than that, I did pretty good. Still no change on the scale (I still have 3 trips pounds overstaying their welcome). My presentation went well this morning, and surprisingly my headache is still here. I don't know what that's all about, I just wish it would go away! I did watch Survivor with DH yesterday, which calmed me down a little. I just don't have time to veg in front of the TV anymore! Thanks heavens for TiVo, or else I'd never get to watch anything! Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 16oz green tea and 12oz Minute Maid Light:

6:15am: Egg Beaters w/Red Pepper; Fiber Cake
8:30am: LF Cottage Cheese; NSA Blueberry Applesauce
11:30am: Romaine Salad (w/chicken, cheese, red pepper, LF dressing)
2:30pm: 3 Egg Whites; Apple
5:00pm: Soy Crisps (1.5 servings); Macadamia Nut Halves (15) :sad2:
6:45pm: Turkey Meatloaf; Broccoli; Mashed Potatoes (4 bites); Ginger Biscuits (2)
WORKOUT: None :guilty:
RESISTED: Trail Mix, PB, Belgian Truffles (these are not opened yet, and I dread the day they are!)

Anna, we have an annual Halloween party at our house, so we have tons of decorations. I also tend to hit Target the day after and get some more at 50% off every year. This year there was a huge bag of new stuff from Cost Plus, I don't even remember buying it, but it was a nice surprise!

Tracey, I wish STRESS counted as exercise, I'd be doing great then! It's been a long time since I've been that worked up, I don't want that to happen again any time soon!

Ugh! Yesterday sounded horrible! So much for teamwork. I hope things calm down, your headache goes away & most important of all - that you get caught up on Desperate Housewives.

P.S. Those Belgian truffles sound awful tempting. I don't think I'd last 5 minutes around'em.

Wow Amy....where have I been??? Dang...I have to go back 3 pages to get caught up now!! Is there a way to send a smack via PM??
Sorry I haven't checked your journal lately....I'm a lousy friend. I'll try to do better, I promise!!!

Good job on the presentation, and not killing your co-worker...that's an everyday issue for me!!!

Keep up the good work!!
marie

Hi Amy, sounds like things have been a bit stressful! Don't worry about those few pounds, they'll go away soon. I think its great that you didn't stress eat. If you had to do on or the other (eating right vs. working out) eating right is the better option! My personal trainer told me that actually. So good job! Hang in there with work, you'll be in Mexico before you know it! Glad your presentation went so well (hope you got all the credit).

I did pretty good yesterday. I was busy cleaning, cleaning, cleaning! I really cleaned the inside of the van, which I've been wanting to do for a long time. DH asked why I just didn't take it to the car wash place and I told him because they always do a crappy job and I can do it better! The outside is still filthy but at least the inside is nice! My brother got in at 10:40pm. I was so tired driving, but we made it. Then the stupid dog kept barking at him with his freaky beagle bark/howl and woke up poor DH, who had to be at work at 6am. I have been SO bloated these past couple days, just what I wanted to look like in Mexico. Oh well, I will have a blast watching the kids enjoy the beach so I'm not going to stress over it. I can get back into a routine when I get back. I have 3 weeks to get my butt in gear for the cruise once I get back from Mexico. I won't be posting until we get back, so everyone have a great weekend! Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 16oz green tea and 12oz Minute Maid Light:

6:15am: Chocolate Oatmeal
8:30am: LF Cottage Cheese; NSA Applesauce
11:30am: Romaine Salad (w/chicken, cheese, red pepper, LF dressing); Almonds (1.2oz)
2:30pm: Low Carb Yogurt; Apple
6:30pm: Beef Roast; Onion; Carrots (5 baby); SF Jello; LF Brownie (the equivalent of 1, there were issues with cutting them and I ate the "pull out")
9:30pm: Fiber Cake (I could have done without this, but it was better than trail mix or truffles!)
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: Trail Mix, Truffles

Jane, we bought some of the truffles in Amsterdam and they were devine. Just melt in your mouth goodness. When I saw them in London, I knew DH would love them. What was I thinking?!?!? They still aren't open. We are having people over for a BBQ today, maybe I'll set them out tonight... My headache is finally gone (surprise, it goes away when I have the day off work  )

Marie, I was wondering where you've been! Same old story for me, you haven't missed much. Don't be such a stranger!

Amy, my ND told me the same thing. She said she'd rather see me eat right and work out less. There must be some truth to it! I am going to basically take the week off and really jump back into working out hard next week. No sense in getting anything started now since I will be eating/drinking all the wrong stuff this weekend! :teeth:

Glad your headache is finally gone. Have a wonderful time in Mexico. Maybe get a great beach walk while you are there. Is your whole family going?

European chocolates are soooo good! Definitely set them out at the BBQ tonight. Then you can have one, but not the whole box.

Have a great trip! :cheer2: :sunny: :cheer2:

HI Amy,

Welcome home!!! I bet it's nice to be home, even with all the stress going on. But now you are on your way to Mexico!!!

Have a wonderful trip :)

Amy, Adios, and have a great time in Mexico! You can really hit hard when you get back, just in time for your next adventure! "See" you when you get back!

P.S. Must be something in the air, I cleaned out my gross mini van too!

We'll be living vicariously through you! Have a great time!!!

Wow, what a trip. Kids loved it, parents loved it, brother loved it, everyone had a blast! It is so gorgeous there, I wish we could afford to go more than twice a year. The kids are already asking when we are going back! I ate SO MUCH it isn't even funny. I know I've gained and I already told myself that I am NOT going to step on the scale until Friday. I don't even want to know the damage. I am going to start hitting it hard tomorrow. That means working out AT LEAST 3x every week (hopefully 5x) and NO EVENING SNACKING!!!! I am also going to follow my ND's detox to the letter until I go on my cruise in 3 short weeks. My goal is to weigh no more than 135 when I leave for Miami on 11/4. I have no idea what my weight is right now, but I know it is somewhere in the low-to-mid 140's :crazy2: . That doesn't matter, what matters is getting back into a healthy routine so I can splurge a little on my cruise and not have to buy a new wardrobe when I return... :rolleyes1

Anna, Jane, Jamie, Amy, Marie and CJK, thanks for stopping by and assuring I didn't fall off to Page 2!!! :teeth:

Hi Amy!! I'm back...again...for the third time... I have enjoyed reading about your travels. Maybe I can stick with it this time!! :woohoo:

Welcome Home! That sounds like you had a great time with family (in a tropical setting, what is better I ask)! Where in Mexico did you go? You will hit it hard and get right back on track. You have a plan in place already and that is half the battle. Good idea not to step on the scale, its not a true representation of what you really weigh anyhow since most of that is water. Work hard and you will likely have very good news on Friday! And three weeks is a nice amount of time to get where you need to be for your cruise. You can and will do it! :thumbsup2

welcome home :)
Sounds like you had a great trip :)
I think your doing the right thing by not jumping straight on the scale, why get depressed when you will proberbly have most of it off by next week :)
Good plan :)
Take care
Tracey

Welcome back from your trip! :beach: Glad to hear that your entire family had a great time! Can't believe your next trip is coming up so soon!

Welcome back!!! Glad to hear you had a great trip! Sounds like you've got that determination to reach your goal!! Hope your week's off to a great start! :cheer2:
