Jane, my mom didn't remember I was on a special diet until we went to pay and I didn't get anything. Then she felt bad. But not bad enough to stop eating one of my fave flavors in front of me...

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wow, Amy, you are busy! I don't see how you fit it all in. Great job on the food resisting. I went grocery shopping yesterday and made sure NOT to buy tempting foods. Today dh came home with...Sunchips! One of my biggest temptations. What was he thinking? And then ds was not happy that I didn't buy shredded cheese for the tacos. There are some foods that I just can't have in the house. I guess Baseball Nut would fall into that category for you.

I can't believe how busy you are!!! I'm sooo impressed how you continue to exercise/eat well despite everything else going on! Keep up the inspiring work!!

Amy, that would be a roundabout turn of events if we got your servers on the Magic! Cheesecake huh? Gee, I'd never eat that! Your food sounds good. Don't worry about not making August challenge, I don't think I will either and you know what, its okay. We are still doing well overall. And good for you for NOT doing September. I think your motivation factor is pretty high, challenge or not so you'll keep doing great no matter what! Your food looks great as usual. I'll talk to you when I get back and eat at least a couple of pieces of cheesecake in your honor!

Amy

So there I was. All alone in the house. DD was at her friend's, DS and DH and the psycho dog were at obedience training. It was WAY too quiet and I didn't know what to do with myself. I took the peanut butter out, unscrewed the cap, then PUT IT BACK!!!!! :cheer2: :banana: :cool1: I drank lemon water instead. That saved me about 300 calories. I did munch on some soy crisps and a tiny bit of beef jerky (we need to start eating BEFORE the boys go to obedience class) to make it through to dinner, but at least I stayed away from the peanut butter! I am on track to have a small loss for Friday's weigh-in, so I don't want to screw things up. Yesterday I drank 80oz water; 16oz Green Tea w/Splenda; 24oz Crystal Light:

6:15am: Chocolate Oatmeal
9:00am: Low Carb Yogurt (4oz); Strawberries (1c)
11:30am: Spinach (2c); Diced Chicken Breast (3oz); Shredded Cheddar (2tbsp); Garbanzo Beans (1/4c); Italian Dressing (2tbsp); Red Pepper (2tbsp); Soy Crisps (20)
4:00pm: 3 Egg Whites; Apple
6:30pm: Soy Crisps (12); Beef Jerky (2 very small pieces)
7:30pm: Shrimp (4oz); Cauliflower (1c) w/Butter Buds; Brown Rice (1/2c); SF Jello w/Soy Whip
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: Peanut Butter, Cereal, Almonds

Julie, I am half way through the "detox". I hope I am at least allowed melons and grapes for the next stage!

Jane, I also love Sunchips. I have been getting the kids pretzels, Goldfish and Cheez-its for their lunches instead of chips. They don't seem to mind. Good for you not buying cheese. I am the same way with ice cream and Cool Whip. Sometimes it's just not worth the mental trauma!

CJK, I am so used to being busy that I freak out if I have nothing to do. :crazy: I guess it's something you get used to!

Amy, thanks for having a Magic cheesecake for me! I will miss your encouragement while you are gone, but I know you will have a much needed relaxing time. Enjoy yourself!

Way to go with avoiding the peanut butter. :woohoo: Lemon water has been a lifesaver for me, too. I don't know why it works but it does. Pretzels are great for snacking. I buy them because I can eat them (not now but normally) with my lf cheese wedges and still stay on target for my fat grams and calories for the day. Unfortunately, the Sun Chips definately don't fall into that category.

Hang in there, Amy! Detox is almost over.

good job on resisting the peanut butter!!! :thumbsup2
i did that w/ Pringles once.....not recently though.... :rolleyes1
keep it up girlie!!!

Great job resisting the PB :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :thumbsup2

Good for you on not beating yourself up on the August challenge and skipping the September challenge. You are doing your exercise for yourself. You have really come a long way and integrated exercise into your life now.

You are doing great on your detox. :cheer2: ( I had the dancing banana here, but replaced it since I couldn't remember if banana's were on the approved list or not!)

I have no clue what is going on with my body, but I was SO exhausted yesterday! I mean, from the minute I dragged out of bed until the minute I went to bed (I even took a 1.5hr nap after work which is unheard of!). It was a chore just to get up from my desk and walk to the restroom. Needless to say, I didn't go to the gym - it would have killed me. I was not even refreshed after that long nap. My body just didn't want to move! I thought maybe I wasn't getting enough protein, so at work I raided my emergency almond stash. Didn't help... :confused3 I am still feeling the effects today, but so far not quite as bad. I would like to be able to get to the gym today since I will not be going this weekend (we are going camping). Keep your fingers crossed for me! Yesterday I drank 100oz water; 16oz Green Tea w/Splenda; 24oz Crystal Light:

6:15am: Egg Beaters (1/2c) w/Red Pepper
8:30am: FF Cottage Cheese (3/4c); Strawberries (1c)
11:30pm: Turkey-Provolone-Spinach-Mustard on Oat Bran; Cucumber
2:30pm: Low Carb Yogurt (4oz); Nectarine; Almonds (1.2oz)
7:00pm: Spinach (2c); Diced Chicken Breast (3oz); Shredded Cheddar (2tbsp); Garbanzo Beans (1/4c); Italian Dressing (2tbsp); Soy Crisps (30); SF Jello
WORKOUT: None :guilty:
RESISTED: Papaya strips (DS picked them out at the store); Goldfish, Pretzels, Cheez-Its
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, I love pretzels with Laughing Cow. Too bad I can't have it right now, but hopefully I will get pretzels added back to my diet soon!
Marie, I usually lose the battle with snacking. Probably 97% of the time, if it is in my hand and opened, it's going in my mouth... So I guess I have to celebrate every small vistory!
Anna, thanks for removing the banana, since I still can't have them... :goodvibes I felt really bad about not getting to the gym yesterday, but if I was struggling to get to my car after work, I don't think I would have gotten a very effective workout in. Sometimes you just have to listen to your body (which I am getting better at!)
Amy...YOUR OVER HALF WAY THEIR :)
Well Done!!
& well done for resisting the ice cream & peanut butter!!!!
Take it easy for a few days & then go back to the gym, your body may just need a break whilst its adjusting to the new diet!
I think Tracey's right. Maybe your body was just telling you to take a breather and relax a bit. Maybe your camping trip is just what the doctor ordered! Have a great time! :sunny:
Amy, thats how I had been feeling too - lethargic and exhausted. Do you think the combination of the HEAT (dry as it is), your promotion and the health changes you've had might have contributed? Your body is telling you something - please listen. Whatever you do, don't feel guilty. This is happening for a reason. Be sure to take care of yourself.
Weigh-in this morning was 138! :cool1: :banana: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :yay: I haven't seen a number that low in MONTHS!!!!!! I am pretty excited about it. That makes me really want to behave this weekend when we go camping. The kids are at their dad's, so I won't feel guilty not taking any tempting junk. DH can live without it! We went to curriculum night last night. I found out that DS10 has gotten 2 F's in Science already - once for sniffing the "mystery powder" and once for mixing powders. Hello, mad scientist, they have safety rules for a reason!!!!! :furious: But other than that, everything is going well... I did have the tiniest bit of a chocolate chip cookie (they were giving away free samples of the fundraiser cookies) but I did not get my own! :thumbsup2 I drank 100oz water; 16oz Green Tea w/Splenda; 24oz Crystal Light:
6:15am: Chocolate Oatmeal
8:45am: Low Carb Yogurt (4oz); Strawberries (1c)
11:30am: Spinach (2c); Diced Chicken Breast (3oz); Shredded Cheddar (2tbsp); Garbanzo Beans (1/4c); Italian Dressing (2tbsp); Red Pepper (2tbsp); Soy Crisps (20); 2 Fiber Candies
2:30pm: 3 Egg Whites; Apple; 10 Peanuts
4:00pm: Dried Papaya Strip (~5”) :guilty:
5:45pm: Turkey Taco Meat w/Red Peppers (3/4c); Wheat Rotini (1/2c); Low Fat Sour Cream (2tbsp); Cucumber; SF Jello
WORKOUT: None (still not feeling all that energetic, but it was better than Wed)
RESISTED: Cheez-Its; Pringles; Peanut Butter; Cookies; More Papaya
Tracey, I will be taking a week off from the gym. I should be able to get some hiking in while camping and get to the gym on Monday. I think I was just getting burned out. I go back to the ND on the 6th, I can't wait to see what I get to add back!
CJK, it will be weird camping without the kids. I hope we don't get bored! I will definitely take the opportunity to do some serious hiking this weekend (with no kids stopping to look at bugs, toads, etc) :confused3
Jane, I have no idea what caused my fatigue. I get like that a couple times a year. I would think if it was the diet it would have happened sooner than Day 8. I will ask the ND what could have caused it, because I hate it! Luckily it never lasts for more than a day or two.
Woo Woo!!!! Way to Go, Amy! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Thats wonderful news. Glad to hear that this weekend won't have alot of temptation either. I find that when I eat what I'm supposed to eat I'm not nearly as hungry. The coke & pb&j toast I've been having made me crave even more food. :guilty: It definately helps to increase protein consumption & fiber. I may go on your detox next!
Congrats on the loss!!! :cheer2: :thumbsup2 :cheer2: That is great. I am glad you are getting your energy back. Your camping weekend sounds like it will be great. Lots of hiking and healthy food. I'm jealous!
Great job resisting the cookie. I did not do so well at Parent night last night at the Elementary School. :sad2:
Hello, mad scientist, they have safety rules for a reason!!!!!
LOL. DD12 had her first test today in Science. It was on the rules!
Way to go on the loss!!! :thumbsup2 :cheer2:
You are doing great! Enjoy your camping weekend. DD wanted to go, but we didn't work it out, with other DD's soccer, DS working, etc. and it's a good thing. We've had rain here all week, things are pretty wet, and I HATE camping in the rain. Oh well, we'll find things to do around here. :sunny:
Way to go on the weightloss!! :sunny: It's my DREAM to see that number on the scale again! hehe Nothing like a weigh-in like that to motivate you to continue your healthy lifestyle!! I hope you're having a great time hiking - and whizzing by any bug you might notice! ;)
We survived camping! Unfortunately I didn't do much hiking - we brought the quad and since it was just the 2 of us, we went riding all over the place instead of walking (like when we have the kids). :guilty: But we still had fun and I am ready to get back into my routine starting today! I've had an unbelievable 6 days off from working out, I think it is just what my body ordered! I did pretty good eating, I did snack on a couple extra things, but there was only healthy stuff to snack on, so it worked out fine. I was still at 138 this morning, so I was happy! Today will be spent catching up on laundry, cleaning, etc. Everything that got neglected last week when I was so darn tired... I won't post Fri and Sat's totals, they were pretty typical. Yesterday I drank 60oz water, 42oz Diet Green Tea and a DC:
7:00am: 3 Egg Whites; Low Carb Yogurt; Pear
10:00am: Colby Jack Cheese (3/4oz); Apple
1:00pm: Turkey-Provolone-Spinach-Mustard on Oat Bran
4:00pm: Soy Crisps (30); Papaya Spear :guilty: ; 5 Almonds, 5 Cashews, 4 M&M's
6:45pm: 2 Veggie Burgers (Boca = :crazy2: , I prefer Morningstar); Cauliflower; Zucchini; SF Jello
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: Trail Mix; Wine; Pretzels
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, I was so happy with the loss! I guess this restricted diet actually works. I do seem to have less cravings for junk. If I have to stay on it until I am at 125, I think I could do it. I just have to wait and see what the ND says on Wednesday!

Anna, both kids and DH know I am on a special diet, and they are well aware that I can't have cookies. So it wasn't even really a choice to have one... :rolleyes1

Kate, DD's soccer doesn't start until Sept 15, so that was probably our last camping trip of the season. It was pretty chilly at night too! Our property is at 5900ft so it makes a big difference. I also hate going when it is raining. It zaps the fun right out of it!

CJK, 138 is actually a high weight for me, I have been creeping up ever since this spring. I hope it is the last time I see this number and my next weigh-in will be lower! You can have 138, I'm done with it! :goodvibes

WELL DONE :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana:
What did i tell you?? :teeth: I knew you would be pleasently suprised ;)
Sounds like the camping was fun & i'm sure riding the bikes burns off calories too, its better than sitting at home doing nothing right?
Try not to be tempted even with a nibble, if it is similier to low carb, it doesnt take much (infact anything!) to throw your weight loss off on induction. There is some very complicated info explaining why that i dont understand but found to be very true!!!
Hope you have a healthy, happy week :thumbsup2

Good job on staying on track while camping! I find that when I'm sitting around that campfire, junk food is usually calling me along with the crickets! :rolleyes1 Have a great week!!
