DAY 10: Sunday, May 11

The phone rang at 7:30 am. Today would be my last day hearing Mickey’s wake-up call. I opened our front door for the express checkout paperwork and it was there. I got ready and headed up to the lounge to grab some breakfast and confirm our transportation. The concierge staff was helpful, but not all that friendly. Maybe it was too early in the morning? I woke Joe up when I got back to the room and we ate our last breakfast on our balcony.

I went down to the gift shop for some last minute souvenirs and Joe finished packing. The porter came for our luggage at 9:00 and brought it out to the curb to wait for the driver.

The Tiffany driver was right on time, 9:15. He seemed a little bizarre and wasn’t very friendly. About fifteen minutes into our ride the driver pulled off to the side of the road. He didn’t say why, but he turned the car off and then restarted it and we continued on our way. He took us past SeaWorld which seemed to be a longer route than the way we arrived. I kept watching out the window making sure we were getting closer to panes taking off. Finally we arrived.

The airport security at Orlando was much better than at Logan. It took longer to get through, but they seemed more thorough and organized better. We stopped at BK to get some lunch on the plane. I’m not sure why I even try getting something to eat when I know my stomach will be in knots soon. The plane was fairly smooth, but I was happy when we finally made it into Boston!!

Joe’s dad picked us up at the airport and drove us back to his house. We spent some time telling his parents all about our trip and dropped off some gifts. We stopped by Joe’s brother’s house and dropped off some more stuff.

When we finally made it to our house, I was glad to see our kitties were still alive and well. Our neighbors did a great job taking care of them for the week! We unpacked a little, but decided that we needed to get some sleep and catch up on television. Tonight was the Survivor season finale!

We had a great trip and I can’t wait to start planning the next one!! Sept 2005 at the Polynesian!

Enjoyed your report and pics. Thanks for posting.

Great trip reports, Amy!

Love your Dismeymoon signature, where did you get the font?

Sorry you weren't real happy at AKL, was it anything in particular?

Loretta

Loretta,

Thanks for your post!

I think our expectations of AKL were really high and when we got there it wasn't at all like what we thought. We loved CSR and received fantastic service there. I though AKL being a deluxe would be even better, but it wound up being worse. We had hoped to just relax the last few days of our trip, but it was just too crowded to do so.

For my signature, I just created the "moon" part in a graphics program and added it to the end of the disney logo.

Thanks for replying, Amy!

Wow, I have read such good stuff about AKL, we are staying there this October. We've had pretty good luck being there in the fall, I'm hoping the weather and crowds won't dissapoint us!

Wow, again! You just created it! I'm impressed:D

I'm still struggling to make a webpage:)
And I have trouble even downloading fonts and clipart! But, I'm learning. Your whole web site is great! One day, one day...

Amy:

I enjoyed your trip report, it was wonderful! I know what you mean about the difference in security between Logan & MCO! Sorry your stay at the AKL was not all you had hoped. When we went to visit last year, I was pretty unimpressed, especially with the pool! It is no wonder we DVC'ers cannot pool hop there ;). I would love to do the Sunrise Safari though. Again, thanks for sharing!

Amy I just finished your trip reports!! I read them on your website (nice)! Thanks for taking time to post them. I was just wondering, you ate at a lot of places I thought I could not eat (Vegetarian) and you got a vegetarian dish. Could you tell me a little about them. Poly and Hoop de Doo etc.? Thanks again! :D

Thanks for posting Amy. I enjoyed all the pics you included on your website too. Thanks for sharing :)

Curly Q,

I find Disney to be very accomodating to vegetarians. I don't eat meat, chicken, or fish, but do eat dairy.

My advice to vegetarians out there is to ask, ask, ask. If you make a PS, be sure to include it in the notes and then remind your server. I was surprised to see that on our Sunrise Safari reservation there was a note that "Amy is a vegetarian". I don't recall ever saying that "I" was the one vegetarian, but it must be in the Disney database somewhere.......

At the Hoop De Doo, I received an entree with pasta and marinara sauce and a vegetable medley. I wasn't that great, but certainly edible.

San Angel Inn and O'hanas are two of my favorites. San Angel has a separate vegetain menu and O'hanas serves a fabulous pasta and veggie dish with a soy type sauce. The fettucinni alfredo in Italy is also one of my favorites!

Planet Hollywood was the only sit down restaurant I had a bit of trouble with. I was hoping to just get a sandwich there and after negotiating with our server, they wound up making me something with tomatoes and mozzerlla which was actually really good.

Counter service was always a bit challenging. I brought protein bars with me on the trip, since the veggie meals there really are more carb based. They were a good snack for when Joe was having a hot dog or turkey leg!!

Thanks to everyone for reading! Please ask away if you have any other questions, I love reinising about my trip........
