Amway Center

Hi

We are hoping to get tickets to an Orlando Magic game when we go on our Christmas vacation. We were going to book the Crowne Plaza Universal and drive to Amway Center for the game, however would people say that's a good idea or would we be better staying at a hotel closer that we could walk to or get a cab there. It will be me, DH and our 2 kids (15 +11).

Our main priority is safety and a nice hotel.

We commuted from a SeaWorld hotel to the Amway Center for a Magic game on our Christmas 2012 vacation. It was a super easy drive and parking was equally painless. I would not worry about staying within walking distance to the Amway Center if the balance of your holiday is being spent at Disney/Universal/SeaWorld.

Do you remember roughly how long the drive was?

We have never been to a game before as we are from the UK, is it ok for kids, I assumed so as I think they'll love it but thought I should check.

For that trip, we stayed at the Residence Inn SeaWorld. We were doing a SeaWorld parks vacation (no Disney or Universal), and wanted to stay at an official partner property for the onsite benefits (free Quick Queue, etc.). An NBA game is absolutely awesome for kids. visitorlando.com ususally offers discounted tickets to Magic games, so be sure to check with them before buying tickets from another source. We were able to snag a much better deal from visitorlando.com versus what we would have paid by buying tickets directly from the Orlando Magic organization, and the seats were superb! (14 rows from the floor)
