"Amuck, amuck, amuck!" A Pre-TR (link to TR in the first post)

Im actually shivering...it rained all through CA between last night and today....whoo hoo...
I miss the rain. :guilty:

oh and sorry to be the bearer of bad news but boards say that Sally and Jack arent supposed to be out and about till the 24th..sorry Beth:sad2:
Why doesn't this surprise me???? I freaking called Disney directly and the CM I spoke with assured me they were already out and about on weekends. Figures.

I love Disney and all but this happens why too often that they have people working there who give out wrong info or are just completely clueless.

I've been really sick the past couple of days (I think it's because of stress) so I haven't been on. It did give me a bunch of free time to go through boxes and boxes and albums after albums of photos to find me as Mary Sanderson (I don't know why I said I was Winnie :confused3 ). Anyways, here is the picture:

And the original Mary:

I hope you all are having a great weekend! I'm headed back to bed now.
How cute!!! I love it.
I'm sorry you are sick though. Feel better soon! :wizard:

Interesting . . . it was the same Alice, but a different Mad Hatter in the parade--so I think this girl plays around, KWIM?
Tramp. :rolleyes1

I am so tired! I've been out all day long running errands. First I had to go get some new clothes. Jeans mainly. I've lost some weight and the ones I have don't fit. I hate to spend the money since I'm still losing, but the ones I had were falling down. LOL

Then I had a few things to pick up for the trip.

After that we spent the rest of the day trying to find a costume for my son!!! He was invited to a birthday party this Friday. It's a Halloween theme and so he has to wear a costume. BTW, this party is for some girl who's turning 14 and they are having the party at the country club. Who has a 14 year olds party at the country club?? Geez, what are they going to do for her Sweet Sixteen?

Anyway, we went ALL OVER!! Even to a couple specialty Halloween stores. Things were either too small, too babyish, or adult sized. There is almost nothing for teen boys.

There is a ton for teen girls, or for little boys like Spiderman and stuff. It was so frustrating. We finally find one at Walmart of all places. He's going to be a Pimp.
6.gif
LOL Maybe not the best choice for a 13 year old, but there was nothing out there. :confused3 And I think it's kind of cool.

Oh, then when we got home we discovered our air conditioning in the house isn't working. Great. It's still going to be in the 90's this week!! We are renting this place though so the landlord better be the one to repair it. We already have to pay for the landscaping and the bug spraying. I'm not paying for the broken A/C too, especially when we didn't do anything to it.

Can you tell it's been one of those days????? :headache: If I was a drinker, I'd have a nice glass of wine right now. Maybe I need to start.....

When my kids were younger, we ran into Alice, and she was TOTALLY throwing herself at John Smith. My kids were so embarrassed. Not as bad as the time Ariel asked DS to be her boyfriend. I think he was about 8. He still won't allow us to talk about it.

Some people will do anything to avoid vacuuming. I know I would.

Congrats on the falling down pants.

I still have over half a bottle of red wine from gallo that I used to make french onion soup tonight...

im telling you this girl is a hooch....:rotfl2:

Wendy I hope you are feeling better soon...look at it like this...better to get sick now and get it over with than get sick while your at DL or right before it...can i get an AMEN???

Congrats on the falling down pants.
Thanks! :goodvibes Still have a long ways to go, but it's a start.

I think you are right about that Sweet Sixteen show. My son is turning 14 in December and I was joking with Ruben that we forgot to call and reserve the country club. Drats! I guess we'll just have to settle for Chuck E Cheese. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

AMEN!! Much better to get sick now then in a week or so. I am trying to keep everyone well. But if it happens, I'd rather it be now so they can get over it before we leave in one week!! :cool1:

WOO HOO! THat is so cool!! I just made up a new dinner tonight: I call it "Things in my kitchen casserole" consisting of: Chicken, corn, spinich, bacon, cheddar cheese and country gravy mixed together and topped with mashed potato's. Oh yea, I made that one up, baby! :lmao: Believe it or not, everybody loved it! But lo-cal it was NOT! I can watch money or calories but not both, KWIM????

Due to the fact that I am reading the Twilight series I would have been leaning toward VAMPIRE

So TOTALLY not cool! When I lived in Vegas (and was 9 mos pregnant) the AC in our apt complex would always FREEZE UP and voila, no AC!

Can you tell it's been one of those days????? :headache: If I was a drinker, I'd have a nice glass of wine right now. Maybe I need to start.....

Everytime somebody says this it gives me motivation to go have a cocktail! I'm going to have some amaretto and ice cream.

P.S. Beth, this is a link to a TR where this woman makes the CUTEST kid outfits... the last pages show some Halloween ones but they are ALL SO DARN CUTE it makes me sick!!!

OK, I'll have to check it out! Thanks.

I suggested a Vampire, but it was the same story. Every place we went had it in a kids size, meaning for age 10 and younger. Or an adult size that was so long it almost dragged the ground.

If I'd thought of it sooner, I could have probably ordered one online, but honestly who thought it would be so hard to find teen sized costumes?? :confused3
Well, for boys anyway. If I had a teen daughter there was no shortage of trampy teen costumes I could have put her in.

OK, so to make Lynn happy, I am finally posting a basic schedule. Not to say it won't still change. We do have a whole week to go..... :rolleyes1

Day One, Sunday October 12

Leave for CA as early as possible. It appears we are going to chance it with the minivan. We are in Vegas after all, gotta do a little gambling. We have AAA, cell phones, road flares, water, etc. So pray we make it ok!!

This isn't a Disney day. We'll be heading to my mother-in-law's in Simi Valley, CA. We are going to spend Sunday night at her place. Do a little visiting with them before heading to the real vacation.

Lunch will be on the way in Barstow. Lots of eateries to choose from there. We'll probably be making many stops along the way to give the van a chance to catch it's breath.
Since we will be making so many stops it's hard to guess what time we will arrive in Simi Valley. It's normally a five hour drive, but I expect it to take us at least seven. So I can't really make any other plans for this day since I have no clue when we'll arrive. I just want to make it there safe and sound.

Day Two, Monday October 13

Assuming all is still well with the van and we don't need to do any repairs today, we'll probably spend the day visiting my SIL and BIL.
My SIL works so we'll try to stop by and see her on her lunch hour. And my BIL has a house in Pasadena that he is decorating for Halloween and wants us to see.

We'll probably just hang out, go to lunch somewhere. I'd love to stop in Glendale at Porto's Bakery again and get some more of those meat pies. Yum!

I'd like to be on the road to Disneyland before too long since I don't want to be driving after dark, just in case.
After we check in to the hotel, we'll grab dinner someplace quick and cheap. Maybe let the kids go for a swim. I'm going to try to get everyone in bed early because the next day will be our first park day!!

Sounds like a good first two days. I can't remember...what hotel are you staying at?

Off to a good start!... I don't like to drive after dark, either... my DH can but I don't see as well anymore. (Wow that sounds old!)

Wendylady,
I forgot to tell you how darn cute your hair is for the Sanderson sister!! Love it!! That is definitely one of my favorite movies.

Beth I just wanted to tell you that you're leaving on my 12th anniversary and that day we're going to NYC to the World of Disney in NY.

oh . . . .and Wendy . . . . at DLR this weekend there were all these little girls with "monkey" t-shirts . . . . . so I thought of you of course!

Monkey shirts!!! I love the little monkey "leash" bags. My kid is SO going to be wearing one of those!

There is a ton for teen girls, or for little boys like Spiderman and stuff. It was so frustrating. We finally find one at Walmart of all places. He's going to be a Pimp.

Big pimpin'! Wonder what the birthday girl will wear? I'm sure it will be something short and slutty!

Sorry about your A/C!

Don't start drinking wine just yet, we don't want to have a cat fight on our hands for the last glass of wine on the girls trip. ;)

Wendy I hope you are feeling better soon...look at it like this...better to get sick now and get it over with than get sick while your at DL or right before it...can i get an AMEN???

Thank you, I'm feeling much better. I'm thinking it must have been a 24 hour bug. :confused3

The country club is SO last year, that poor girl must be so embarrassed. Everyone knows the Cheese is this years new thing.

Thank you so very much! It was a PITA to get my hair to stay up like that!

Your plans sound great so far, Beth! I'll be sending good vibes to you, your family and your van! :goodvibes

ETA: On the topic of Alice, I was going through old pictures and found the little hoochie with someone else:

Sounds like a good first two days. I can't remember...what hotel are you staying at?
We are booked at HoJo and the Radisson in Buena Park. I know, I know. I need to make up my mind! LOL But I'm pretty sure we'll end up at the HoJo since it's cheaper. I like both so it's hard to decide.

Off to a good start!... I don't like to drive after dark, either... my DH can but I don't see as well anymore. (Wow that sounds old!)
I have a hard time seeing after dark, but the main reason I don't want to be on the roads after dark is in case something should happen and we break down somewhere, it's much more dangerous to be stopped along the road when it's dark. People can't see you!

So my plans are to not be out driving around after dark. At least not on the freeways.

Beth I just wanted to tell you that you're leaving on my 12th anniversary and that day we're going to NYC to the World of Disney in NY.
Awww, Happy early Anniversary!!!! Have fun in NYC! I'd love to go to that World of Disney store. You'll have to share with us your thoughts on the store and of course what you buy!! ;)

Thanks! We need all the good vibes we can get. :wizard:

That Alice. :sad2: Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

Actually, maybe I should watch Alice in Wonderland. Little tramp seems like my kind of gal!! :smokin:

THat would be funny if you could get your DS's (female) friends to dress as Alice, Snow White, Cindy and the gang then your DS would be the pimp. OMG It's all wrong, ALL wrong, yes, definitely :lmao:

Well, I already heard from Adam that one of them is dressing as a trampy version of Dorothy.

Tuesday, 10/14 Disneyland 9-8 California Adventure 10-6

Wake up early and head to Disneyland finally!! :cool1:
Grab some breakfast snacks to share at Blue Ribbon Bakery - cinnamon roll, chocolate croissant, pumpkin muffin (yum!)
Spend all day in Disneyland. I'm not really planning which rides to do when. We all have our lists of things we want to do so we'll just wing it using our lists.
Rather then doing a sit down lunch I'm thinking we'll snack around the park on chimis, turkey legs, Dole Whips, etc.
Dinner at either Riverbelle Terrace or Golden Horseshoe.
Stay at Disney until closing at 8. It will still be pretty early so maybe we'll walk around DTD. Not sure yet.

The creepy thing is she's just a little girl in both the book and the movie. Why she has to hooch it up at DL is beyond me.

I just realized that your trip coincides with my sister and her husband's anniversary trip. If you see a good-looking African American guy with a shaved head and a mustache, probably wearing something referring to the 3 stooges, with a woman who looks a little like me but with a very long blonde braid and great legs (she's a letter carrier), you can ask them if they are David and Glynis. That would blow their minds.
