"Amuck, amuck, amuck!" A Pre-TR (link to TR in the first post)

ok so I found this video of Halloween at DLP and is it me or is some of the stuff not up to the standards we have become accustomed to with disney not there...like in the some of these decorations (especially the witches) also they give us seriously tame stuff here in the US...some of those pumpkins and witches scared me:rotfl:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01frCMlxdzw&feature=related

its a pretty long video but if you watch the first few minutes of it you will see what I mean...alot of it just didnt seem disney to me:confused3

That was so fun to watch the DLP Halloween. We are planning on planning (got that?) a trip to London and Paris next year, and I really want to sneak in a side trip to DLP. Other cultures are so funny: those "Miss New Booty" witches remind me of a European Halloween cartoon my kids used to watch when they were little. Those scarecrows were what gave me the creeps. Have you ever seen the movie Pumpkinhead?

Love the party pictures too. I miss the days when Halloween was a big deal at our house. I'm afraid to know how my kids dress up now.:scared1:

And it really chaps my hide that Pocahontas is not considered one of the princesses. For heaven's sake, she's the only one who was a REAL princess.

hold on...back the train up....now Miss Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) was a princess....and well Jasmine was a princess (King=Sultan same thing), and of course we cant forget our water princess her majesty Ariel...

We passed by a place called the Carnegie Deli. OMG, they had the most delicious looking desserts on display!!! I was so full from breakfast, but man these looked good.
I'm a sucker for cheesecake. Here is their website. http://www.mirage.com/dining/casual_dining_carnegie.aspx The menu sounded good, and the food must good because there was a line to get in.

omg beth...when I was down there in aug...I wanted to do something to get out of the house and go swim in an awesome pool so I checked on the internet and they had a one night special there for $109 strip view room...I have to show you these pics..

first 2 are from our room looking out to the strip..I know its blurry sorry:

order of fries to share:

being that this is a new york deli they serve kosher foods and these are 2 of my favorites:

matzo ball soup to die for and they make their own pickles:
carnegiedelimatzoballsoup.jpg

now this is Milton's Smorgasbord..its 4 freshly baked rolls individually stuffed
with shrimp salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, and egg salad...I didnt like the shrimp salad nor the egg salad but the tuna and chicken were to die for...I split these with my friend Andrea...she took the egg salad and a tuna...
carnegiedelisandwich.jpg

we were so stuffed when we left out of there my god....

I have a little bag full of medicine that I always take on trips with me now. I've got everything from Pepto to cough drops and everything in between. With four kids I've learned you have to always be prepared. Oh, and I learned that the hard way! :rolleyes1

sheesh I take a bag of that stuff for me let alone 4 kids:rotfl:

Ok, this is more of what I had in mind:

Those are so cute. They look kind of time consuming to make though. I'm not sure I have the patience.
And I don't know if I really want to buy lots of little extras I have to add to them. It makes it look cute but it could get expensive.

they are cute and travelmel I totally dig your enthusiasm and creativity...have you guys ever done the ghosts in the graveyard??? I will be surprised if you havent but that is sooooooooo easy to do...
ghostsinthegraveyard.jpg

and what would be really cool is if your girls have any really old barbie dolls that are half broke or they dont use anymore...take off the arms and stick them in front of the grave like the arms are trying to climb out hehehe

Lynn,
Thanks for the diggin (get it..dig..graveyard... oh brother??) my stuff :lmao: Ghosts in a graveyard is TOO cute! I might have to try that this year!

I am Norwegian so of course, I LOVE smorgesboards (SP???)! Yumm to the tasting salads menu!

BTW, re: Pocahantas... I think (but am not sure!) she meant REAL as in really existed... real life. :confused3

Goodnight, sleeptight!

I loves me some partay's! Too bad I don't have more mo-nay or I'd do it all the time!
No kidding! Imagine all the awesome ideas we could pull off if only we had the money to back them. :rotfl:

 :rotfl2: Probably best not to know. LOL

No, I actually haven't! As much as I'm into Halloween, I'm only starting to get into the cooking/baking part of it. Before that just all seemed like work. LOL
I'm going to try that though. It looks great. Whatever I bake, I promise to post pics of.

And THANK YOU for sharing your pics from the Mirage and the Deli. Wow, I had a feeling that place must be good by the line. Maybe one day I'll have Ruben take me there. It will have to be on my next splurge day from this damn diet I am on because I am NOT counting calories there!! :rotfl2:

About time ;)
What she said. ;)

I love Halloween. I am probably going to sound awful but it is my favorite holiday. I get more excited about preparing for Halloween. And I love seeing all the kids in their costumes. My kids are all getting old enough that we can start really doing the house up and doing the "scary stuff" I can hardly wait.

Doesn't sound awful to me! ;) Take some pics if you get a chance. I'd love to see your (and anyone elses) decorations.

Halloween is becoming more and more popular. Even when I was out in the stores, I noticed more things and more brands jumping on the Halloween bandwagon. I think companies are starting to realize how popular it's becoming.

Another trend that's really catching on are Halloween weddings! It's funny because when I was getting married that's what I wanted. But my family talked me out of it. Now I wish I'd just done what I wanted. I'm happy with the wedding we had, but it would have been cool.

You could make it as elaborate or as cheesy as you wanted.

Check out this website, they have some GREAT pics: http://toastandtables.blogspot.com/2007/10/halloween-wedding-its-boo-tiful-thing.html

I love how elegant this looks:

Oh well. Too late for us, but maybe I can start brainwashing my kids and one of them will want a Halloween wedding. :rotfl: I'd be thrilled. Then again, I'm not really the conservative, traditional type. LOL

now that is soooooo not true...you could redo your wedding vows and have a big halloween party as the reception

Wendylady,
Glad you liked it!

Beth,
Love that link to the hallween wedding you provided. I can tell I'm going to get some ideas from that!

Yea wedding Halloween vows! I smell a future OT post.... :rotfl:

I would love a Halloween wedding. My hubby Scotty and I always talk about getting married again so maybe if we do it that 's what we will do. The colors would be so fun. The attendants could wear orange and black. I could carry a bouquet of fall flowers. Oh that would be so fun.

I will take pictures of everything I do. I know I am making a scarecrow. I love scarecrows and I am entering a scarecrow contest. I entered one in 2006 and got a honorable mention. I was hoping to make a Hannah Montana type scarecrow because I have the perfect dress for it. But logistics just don't work for it.

Here is a sign I bought today because I just couldn't pass it up.

Love the haunted sign

I would so love to do that! Maybe for our 20th anniversary. We just celebrated our 15th in June.
Actually I wish someone else would have a huge, outlandish, wonderful, over the top Halloween party with all sorts of awesome decorations and just invite me. Then I could party all night on someone else's dime. ;) :rotfl2:

Weren't they so cool?? If you Google Halloween weddings you get all sorts of interesting things.

A bouquet of Fall flowers would be so pretty. :thumbsup2

That's really neat that you are entering a scarecrow contest. Good for you! I am so uncreative, I'd never be able to do something like that.
Oh, and I love the sign! "Haunting for dummies" LOL

OMG, with all this Halloween talk I almost completely forgot to say that I booked our Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour today!!! :cool1:

I am so excited. Ruben and I have wanted to take this tour for a long time now. I hope it's good. I can't wait to learn all sorts of behind the scenes facts and trivia. And to see inside the lobby of Club 33. I'm not one of those who's dying to eat in there like some people are, but it will be cool to see a tiny bit of it.

I'll be sure to take lots of pics. Or at least as many as they'll let me. And I'll TRY to remember as many fun facts as I can. Maybe I should bring a tape recorder. LOL

:goodvibes OH yea! Another great virtual experience for the rest of us! :teeth:

I just did the Lilly Belle tour (Free!) and it was SO great.. definitely a highlight. Our sweet little conductor had a great time showing off his obvious reverence for the parks in a very humble way.

I think you're going to have a great time
