I'd love to take Amtrak to Orlando - I think my boys would really enjoy that - but it is ridiculously expensive. To go from Fargo to Orlando, it would be over $4500 round trip 
That includes the price of the family bedroom for two legs of the trip and two roomettes for another. I wouldn't go that far without having rooms. We've gone on Amtrak to visit my in-laws, which is a seven hour trip, and for that we don't need roomettes, and then it is affordable. Still more expensive than driving, but fun for the kiddos so we do it.
I'm just saddened. Why can't this country get its rail system up to date?
